Tea Cakes Recipe
1 cup butter (room temperature)
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 Tbl sour cream
extra granulated sugar in a small bowl
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add in eggs and mix well.
Mix together the flour, salt and baking soda and then add that to your mixing bowl, alternating with the sour cream. Mix well.
Make generous tablespoon-sized balls and drop into the small sugar bowl. Roll to coat. Add to greased cookie sheet and do not flatten.
Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.
Sprinkle sugar on top of the cookies when you remove them from the oven. Then let cool 2 minutes on the baking pan before moving to a cooling rack.
Store in airtight container.

Part of what I love so much about Flosstube is seeing how everyone makes pieces their own. A Quaker Dwelling has never really called to me, but seeing it on your fabric has made me reconsider that. Your version is lovely! In highschool English was my favorite subject - I loved both literature and composition. In college, my favorite classes were my history classes. I'm working toward a second Bachelor's degree right now, and I'm taking a short story class which combines the best of both worlds for me.. we've been reading some great short stories and our final project will be to write our own short story.
@ColoradoCrossStitcher

That sounds like exactly the kind of class I'd like - short stories, and then writing one! Sometimes I miss college classes. 🙂 And I was the same as you about Quaker Dwelling. Thought it was pretty, but wasn't tempted to stitch it until I saw it on colored fabric!

My favorite class in school was third grade, my teacher was amazing. I was an extremely shy kid and she always made me feel more confidant, smarter and creative than I was. Remembering back I can see how she did that for each child in the class. She was very special. Great video, congratulations on yarn shop sale and the success of your cross-stitch endeavor. See you next time.

From the moment I learned to read at age 5 I couldn't stop. I still read about 250 books a year - except now they're audio books so I can stitch and read at the same time. Biographies, history, romantic suspense, mystery, dystopian, post-apocalyptical, and of course Jane Austen, are among my favorites. Thanks so much for the Tea Cakes recipe. Click on her videos and scroll down and you can see the title and the gold bunny head that she has painted. It might be a nice break for you with all that you have on your plate right now. That project bag bag looked so handy! My favorite subject at school was chemistry. Teacher gave me special exam for me cause he taught the normal one would be too easy.

I did not have a favorite class in High School. I was on pep squad so that was fun but that was after school. I loved college when I finally got to the Nursing program. Couldn’t get enough of those classes. Can’t wait until you get “Keeper of the Pins” back in stock.

Like you, I am drawn to that Quaker Dwelling. I also love Kathy Barrick’s Parliament of Owls. In school, my favorite classes were English, History, and Band. I went on to music school for college. I’m glad the Loopy Ewe will live on!

Congrats on change of ownership of Loopy Ewe. Glad it's going to someone like minded. Sorry for the stress of the transition though. Loved seeing all your pieces. We all have more than we can stitch in a lifetime. Collecting is just a different hobby. Math and sciences were favorite subjects in school. Keep stitching

So glad for another floss tube from you. I always love everything you show and talk about. My favorite subject in both elementary and high school was English, because like you I loved to write and still do. In college my major was Nursing and my favorite subjects were all the psych classes. Are we related? 😂 Have a happy stitchy week.

Glad you’re back. Congratulations on your business ventures. Totally enjoy your snippets of general knowledge and your encouragement to stick with our projects. I would say my favorite subject/teacher was Mrs McCollum in the 3rd and 4th grade. It was a small school and 2 classes shared a room/teacher, so I had her twice. I learned so much in those 2 years. She was so kind and compassionate to a child who was socially awkward and a bit lazy in her work. I remember in the 4th grade we had a lesson on telephone etiquette. I burst into tears when it was my turn to respond. We didn’t have a phone, I had never used one. When the others started to laugh, she quickly took the class into hand and gently guided me through the lesson. She was the greatest.

I love your stitched projects, especially Jane Banister. I’m a bit biased though, as she was stitched in 2019, and because of her, I won an antique sampler from HATS at the end of December.m! My favourite subject in high school was band. I played in concert band and stage band. It was my escape for the stressors of teenage life.
