I got a strange feet malformation, that makes me "walk on heels". I put extra pressure in certain areas of my feet instead of the whole surface, and that escalates to my ankles that escalates to my knees that...so on. Sometimes I get pain in my entire legs after walking 2 blocks only. Sometimes no pain at all. These past few months I've walked with very little pain and oh boy it feels amazing. I feel you, man. I feel you. Hope that technology can help you recover what biology could not.

Ok, for anyone interested, here’s how these work: Light from colored objects contains varying amounts of light that stimulates one of 3 color sensing cone cells in the eye (red, green, or blue). Some colors are made up of wavelengths that stimulate more than one type of color cone. The problem in colorblind people is that one or more of the cones has diminished sensitivity. For example, if a color consisted of 75% red light and 25% green light a normal eye would interpret it as mostly red with some green. In a colorblind eye, however, perhaps the red sensitivity is lowered such that the same signal seems like 50% red and 50% green. These signals compete with each other and sort of cancel each other out and lead to washed out, and yellow appearance of colors (specifically for red/green colorblindness). The way these glasses work is by filtering out those competing signals and only allow light through that is specific to that exact type of cone. In other words, if you took that example of 75% red light and 25% green, it would filter out the green light and allow the brain to interpret the signal as red again. This leads to greater contrast between colors and reduction of competing signals, such that when viewing a red object, ONLY red light gets through and same with green and blue. Edit: as a result of how these glasses work, it will NOT correct color vision in individuals who have a complete 100% loss in one type of cone cell. It can only fix vision for people whose cones are functional but just functioning at a lower level than they should

@PsychoticWolfie
@PsychoticWolfie 4 жыл бұрын
@@blumenkohl108 Having taken LSD, no, I didn't see extra colors. I instead saw Squidward choking on a fork in that one episode of Spongebob. LSD isn't some miracle chemical, it's just a psychedelic. A molecule your body reacts to, and each of us reacts differently. However, to see a different/extra color, you would need extra cones in your eyes you don't have. Thanks to there being ACTUAL smart people out there who learn about this stuff and don't just make shit up because it sounds cool, like you, we know that psychedelics don't give you extra rods and cones. What your brain goes through in an LSD trip is akin to a seizure (not the shaking kind, the out of control brain activity kind). If you see "extra" colors it's because your brain is on fucking fire with activity and that's not necessarily good. And just because it feels good doesn't make it good. There have been studies that have shown LSD has some mild therapeutic effects, but those are dose-controlled and administered by medical professionals for actual treatment, not just because someone's looking for a trip.

So cool! I can just "barely" understand as I'm not colorblind (that I'm aware of) but I don't see super well (which I recently found out). So I got a pair of my first glasses and I just couldn't believe the vividness of the trees. Like, I never knew you could see the leaves individually and it blew me away. So I imagine it's just like that, only times 100!

I don’t remember wearing them to school, just seeing my classmates and the writing on the blackboard. Everything clarified so vividly, I was astonished. The connection between dad and son at the first scene is really awesome. God I wish I had such connection between me and my family. My family is quite formal and rarely show our emotions. But I promise, by the will of God, I'll make such a beautiful family in the future, I'll be the best daddy for my kids.

Its so powerful seeing colors I think people who aren't colorblind take the colors for granted and sound. I could only imagine what its like to hear music or see colors for the first time.

I haven't made it passed the 1:07 Mark, because I can NOT stop balling my eyes out, over seeing that little boys reaction to seeing color for thr first time😢WE ALL WHO CAN SEE, HEAR, TALK, WALK, TOUCH AND UNDERSTAND NEED TO STOP TAKING THESE BIG THINGS FOR GRANTED!!! I KNOW A LOT DON'T USUALLY THINK OF THEM AS BIG THINGS, BUT JUST THINK OF AN ELDERLY PERSON WHO'S BEEN BLIND SIDE BIRTH... NEVER SEEN THE SUNLIGHT, OR THE COLOR OF THEIR CHILDREN'S EYES...WE OFTEN DON'T EVEN REALIZE JUST HOW LUCKY WE ARE THAT WE HAVE AND OR CAN DO ALL THESE THINGS...DON'T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED....
