I show and describe how I went about wiring my double colorbond garage (with the help of a licensed electrician of course). This is relevant info for Australia. It may not apply to other areas.
This is the video that inspired me to upload this:
• Video
It was really helpful to me in doing this job as resources on how to do this seem pretty scarce.
Edit:
This isn't perfect, there's a number of things that could be better. For example if I was doing it again I would use hard PVC tube for the long runs. I would've also built a complete box for the distribution board wires to sit inside. This is just the way that I got the job done at the time. The electrician was happy with it at the end, and therefore so was I.

Where did that earth wire go?? Also, i've been in a few similar modern built sheds now and what you've done with the conduit it next level, you'd be lucky to see it used over the sharp edges only, with a few girder clips to secure. But runs down to GPOs still use conduit to deep mounting blocks for the GPO to mount onto. Conduit supported with clamps etc. It seems the go is to just leave the cable runs in the purlin sections (out of reach section) for the main bus.

Hey Simon, great job mate.It looks like I might've helped you a bit with it? Bit jealous of your LED lights.Enjoy! Cheers, Bloff.

Good job; Exactly what I was planning; purlmates with flex conduit and shed distribution board. One thing I did notice though, and I haven't decided what to do yet, but the flex conduit runs very close to the screws ends which come from through from outside and into the purlin channel. Do you think this presents a danger down the track if the screw ends wear into conduit? Was thinking wire nuts or silicone just to cover ends.

Yep I see what you mean. The ends of the screws are pretty close to the conduit. In some cases they are gently touching it. However in my case I looked at this and decided there was no issues. The electrician was also fine with it. The reality is that the conduit is pretty strong. It would take a good amount of force from the screw to break a hole in it. It also doesn't move, so I can't see how it would be able to wear a hole in it. Just my observations of course. If it makes you feel better having something on the end of those screws then go for it! :)

Good Video.......Do you remember what size cable in mm your sparky used between your shed switch box and your main switch box and how long was it roughly? Thanks.

I believe he used 6.5mm cable back to the main switch box. The run is about 30-35 metres. Cheers.

i put 20a GPO to weld 6mm wire ...so i like all my cables to be hi,,in hard pvc......so all cables run on roof in hard pvc(NO ONE CAN CUT THEM).then drop down to 10amp so all wires run from roof hard pvc...dope them down where i need them...The fiki tube is only for hard bends...we never know hey

Great Vid. I am about to do the same thing in my new shed and was wondering what watt power were the UFO LED lights? Cheers

They are 300w. Having 4 is perfect. It's super bright in there. Handy as I'm often in there working on my car at night.

@@hypersphereengineering6015 they are LEDs. So I'm thinking no they aren't expensive to run. Certainly no difference on our power bill after I started using them for hours each day.

great video, did you run use part trench to connect from the main board to the shed or just through the attic and overhead?

Hey mate just wondering what size cable you used from the house to the shed?. I’m thinking of using 6mm. Do you have a link to the PowerPoint brackets?? Nice setup. Just got a 7x9 and thinking of having the same setup 👍

Pretty sure it was 6.5mm, but I left that part up to the electrician. Power point blocks are something called "Purlmate". Search for that on eBay ;)
