As I told my sister, I could do any drawing and coloring with about 36 pencils. But the little girl in me wants BIG boxes and lots of colors! And I have enough OCD to want my pencils in their box AND in the right order. Maybe one day I will outgrow that❤❤❤

So satisfying seeing all of your professional pencils together in those cases and caddies. I don’t have the space to keep my pencils out. They are in their tins in my art cart. If I had a dedicated art studio I would keep them out too. I hear you on how you spend your money. I don’t spend on luxuries, my art supplies are my luxuries. 😊

That's cool. Yeah I don't put out my pastel pencils either because I'm too afraid they might break since they are more fragile than a colored pencil

I have a round bamboo lazy Susan that I keep my 120 set of Polychromos in, however it will hold more than 120 pencils. It is so much easier than flipping through my pencil case to get the pencils out that I need. I do keep my 100 Luminance and 76 Museum Aquarelle in one pencil case, because it's padded really well and keeps them in one location together. I will definitely be on the lookout for the clear pencil caddies that you've shown, thank you for sharing!

Your welcome 🤗 thanks so much for watching ! I love the clear caddy . I just found two more very similar in line at tjmaxx over the weekend. They are a bit smaller than the ones shown here but I love them and I'm using one to store all my watercolor brushes . I love being able to see what I have and kinda making my studio like a store display . These ones were marketed as make up brush storage but I don't care . They are exactly the same but a little smaller than these shown And I love them.

I made my own lazy Susan for my beloved 100 Crayola’s… I gouache painted toilet rolls in rainbow colours (actually, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown and white (which holds white/black/grey pencils, the others go in their obvious colour family painted roll)) then hot glued them around a large Moccona coffee glass jar and then onto a Sweets candy lid for stability which goes into a plastic dollar store lazy Susan… looks really good for how cheap it is. I filled the glass jar with weighted doll beads and stand my paint brushes up in it.

I do a special treatment on the paper stumps, before use (Faber Castell ones, definitely need that, more than any other I've tried, because the paper they use, is way harder than others) Treatment is simple, but the results are stunning. I sue 1000grit sandpaper, that I pinch with my thump and pointer finger, and then put the tip of the stump inside and turn it clockwise applying same motion/force everytime, for even results. Paper stumps, in my opinion, require this and a bit more precision while preparing them, than most people think.

@@nicolemartinart5819 Yes!! That's also the way to clean them! If they aren't very dirty,I use a kneadable eraser to clean them.

@@greekveteran2715 I really like the rice paper stumps by Derwent . They are softer to start . And I feel the don't absorb as much of the product or wipe away like some of the cheaper stumps do . I also found rice paper stumps at hobby lobby I like and they are very soft . They are affordable, perhaps you might like them 🙂

@@nicolemartinart5819 Thanks a lot! From my search and personal experience, the best was made by Conte, that they now are ok but not as good as the old ones. Some that say on them "Made in Taiwan? are also excellent and those are the ones I use for now, while waiting for a Conte I ordered 2 days ago! (Fingers Crossed it's from an old stock as I think it is!) Ive not come across Derwent paper stumps, but I definitely get them, as soon as I find a European store that sells those! Thanks again for letting me know! I really appreciate quality supplies!! :)

At Final Thoughts: I know of an artist who puts acrylic paints right on the table and is very free with his painting. He covers the table with 3-ply polyurethane first and doesn't worry about clean up.

Try the stationery section or even the cosmetic section. I was actually waiting in line to check out the other day and found two more of a similar item. They are a bit smaller but I grabbed them to use for my paint brushes and another to use for my pastel pencils. The two I just bought are actually labeled as make up brushes storage but I don't care lol . I love them ! The square shape works much better than round and the fact they are clear means I see them all. Even the short ones . Plus it's visibly appealing and inspiring to use . They also rotate. Try the beauty section near the cosmetic brushes and try the stationary sections 🙂 hope this helps .
