Beautiful card. I haven’t ever tried coloring with the colored pencils using the white pencil first, but it really does makes a difference, it is really beautiful. I’m sure your sister loved this card. I’m glad that you make time to get together as a family.

Beautiful card Kelly! Always love your stories...we are from Columbus & my husband graduated from Ohio State. We picked an early September wedding date (almost 34 years ago 😮)...we didn't even think to make sure it wasn't a home game (and I didn't care if it was)!! People could NOT believe we got married on a home football Saturday!!! Back then...if you couldn't watch it on tv...you had to listen on a radio to check the score...which many people were doing. So funny!!! Thanks for always sharing your cards and stories with us!!!!!

Kelly, I needed to laugh today and you helped me do that. I had an apartment fire a week ago so I am stuck in a hotel for .... how long with some donated supplies. There happed to be some navy blue cardstock so I am going to try this technique as I got some colored pencils too. We still celebrate family birthdays too and I am 65! I learned a long time ago to take every opportunity to celebrate. Another one might not come along for a while. thanks as always for sharing.

I remember you made a video and I think it was with your large stained stamp... I had commented that I find Simon Says Stamp ink seems to be reactivated when I used other colors despite cleaning the stamp in between. You likely do not remember this (or care) but you had mentioned you did not experience this. I found out what was going on! My stamp cleaner wasn't the best for the ink. Simon Says Stamp Ultra stamp cleaner saved the day...no more ink reactivation problems! Woohoo! Love the card btw!

Wish I could color as well as you. I love purple. I spotted your nail polish right away. I have some like it but yours is a little darker and I like it better. I do my own also because I don’t like the way others shape my nails. I know I got off the subject. I have a habit of that. I really enjoyed watching your coloring. Beautiful card!!! You are soooo funny. I use to drive in my jammies too, when I was younger. I had a cop friend that saw me in town, and knowing I drive in my jammies a lot pulled me over. Haha. Oh Kelly... this is so ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Wowza! I'm totally going to try this! That Prisma blending pencil thing is CRAP! Just a plain paper blending stump works pretty well too (even without Gamsol). That blender pencil was scratchy, kinda like nails on a chalkboard... eek! 😖 I'm totally with you about doing your own nails! 💅 M's & P's are roughly $50+ (I've paid upwards of $85 after tip)...😮... honey, you know how many stamps, dies, inks, etc. you could buy?! 😁😁😁 Yep, I do my own cause I'd much rather have something fun to play around with than nail polish from a salon that MIGHT last a week! I use to get a lot of comments about my nails before I retired from doing videos. I think it's funny the things that people notice 😊 (Sorry for my long essay... LOL) 😆😉😆

It’s beautiful. I tried it on a dark blue cardstock, but wasn’t thrilled with my results. Maybe it was my color choices. I’ll try again. Yours is lovely. Interesting how you don’t see the dark color cardstock at all on the flowers and leaves.

I don't think so. Watercolor pencils work differently. You won't get the wax build up to fill in the paper texture. But I'm sure these flowers would be beautiful watercolored :)

I notice that you brush the "crumbs " away with your hand... ive tried this a couple times and have smeared it across my card. Do you have any other advice for brushing away with a tool of some kind? Also, will water color pencils work on this technique?

Nicole Simmons watercolor pencils may work but I'd stick to regular colored pencils they are a lot cheaper. You can use a brush (like a wide soft brush or even a cheap blush brush as long as it's clean.) Mine smear too but it's a habit I can't seem to break :/

I work in a tearoom, so no more nailpolish or rings allowed, but before that I was like you no nail polish much better than chipped...Can't stand chipped and they seem to chip really quickly with me ;-)

Beautiful card. I can't stand chipped nails either. I sit and pick at them and peel the polish off which is horrible for your nails. I just don't wear any now. As I get older, I see all these habits going away. No nail polish, no lipstick even with makeup, and more and more places with no makeup at all. Drive-thrus I don't even care how my hair looks. I'm 61 now and I see these little old ladies out and they have their makeup just right and matching everything, it makes me feel like a bum! Anyway, have a great Mother's Day!

I don't think you're a bum at all. For me doing my hair and makeup is about me. I enjoy doing it and if I don't enjoy it, I don't do it. I'm fine with how I look either way. I think it's beautiful that you feel comfortable enough in your skin to go without. :)

OMG, Cynthi, I feel the same way. I am in my 50's, and lately, its been all about comfort! I have started living by the mantra "What other people think of me is none of my business" and its been so freeing. I still wear a bit of makeup for work, but no lipstick, no heels, and OMG pants with elastic in the waist are my new BFF! Kelly, gorgeous card, as usual. I will be trying this technique!
