Great video Mike! Here's another job for you. Setting of up new you tube video, when you have anything else to do! Lol. One of the first things out of that gentlemen was be Ready!!! That is one of the biggest reason why there's are so good, they have it down to a science. Concrete is one product that doesn't wait on you! He is also very smart in having all of his own equipment. Not having to depend on someone else, like a concrete pampers truck breaking down and now your dead in the water and the concrete truck is there and the clock is running. I have delivered and finished concrete the biggest part of life and I'm still Ow of how so many things change from state to state and come up with the same finished product in the end. Great job everyone!!!

Hardest, most stressful job on Earth. In Atlanta, building inspectors watch to make sure compaction is done right, plastic down, chairs under wire, slump on concrete is correct, yadda-yadda: Meanwhile, it's 95 degrees and the heat -- even with a retarder added -- is blowing up your pour before you can get your pattern into the mix. You don't straighten up 'till you get home, so concrete workers are close friends with chiropractors. Tom is a pro, like Plumber Jim. It's a joy watching these guys work.

Mike that was awesome. You could tell they had it together and knew what they were doing. And like you said things have changed. I’ve done lots of concrete work when I was younger and hauled lots of concrete but a lot of it has changed for the better. I was really impressed. 👍👍👍❤️

Those guys made that job look easy. From demolition, to site prep, to pour and finally finishing, before most people have lunch. All of the tracked wheel borrows I've seen don't have buckets that rotate, nice addition. On the demo work of the existing patio, the company that did that work also did great work. When you have a difficult time busting their work, they did a good job. Poor truck getting that slab dropped into the bed. My best friend has been in the trades for 35 years, mostly tilt wall construction for the past 10 years, but prior to that paving, roads, gutters and airport runways. When I need help on a project, I get his opinion and usually his assistance during the pour. It's nice to have friends that know their trade.

Right? I was impressed with the track buckets & all the care they used to minimize collateral damage to the lawn etc.

I noticed that as well. Having those big slabs to turn the machines on so to not damage any more of the lawn than necessary.
@MichaelJones15273 жыл бұрын
That Georgia bucket is a handy machine delivering the gravel and the concrete, it helps to get in the right places. Impressive that they put down the mattes to prevent damage to the lawn. Nice looking development that they were working in.

I was in the concrete industry for 20 years, and from my past experiences those guys are good. You are right, it has come a long way. Working with concrete is a job that waits for no man or beast. Have done a small amount of finishing and driving a mixer, dump truck, and loader, most of time was as a concrete (material) dispatcher. Also loading the mixers and weighting trucks over the scales. Keep up the videos. Can't wait until his videos come out.

Mike, is great you helping friend set up KZbin channel. One hand washes the other. Impressive they used mats to protect the lawn, alot don't and tear places up. Kudos to Tom for that. Looking forward to seeing the whole video. again, great for you helping them out.

My wife started with a similar service to Hello Fresh here in Sweden. She loves it and we do too. Tons of stress off of her shoulders deciding on menus and shopping for ingredients and the menus for the week that she gets to pick from are really fun and tasty which says a lot coming from a meat and potatoes guy like me. When I poured the concrete floor for the 30mX30m outdoor bar for my hotel in Belize in the '80s, (II wanted to be able to just hose the floor down at the end of the night) we mixed blue dye in and the finished product looked like Caribbean water. Beautiful.

The cement guys are amazing. I had a local company pour a patio for me a few years ago and I'm starting to see issues with it already. My guy didn't remove the old soil underneath the old patio and replace it with gravel. My guy didn't add re-rod over the layer of wire mesh. My guy didn't add an expansion strip up against my foundation and I'm see raising and flaking against the wall. I wish I could of used your friend to do my patio but I'm in MI. I wish notthing but success for your friends channel but with your help and guidance, it will do well. I know I'll subscribe and pass the word to others. Thanks Mike

Good morning to you all. Pouring concrete. I was 12 years old when my father forced me to go along with him to pour a concrete floor. And I hated it but I still did it for 30 years. Melissa is right moving while holding your self up and getting into weird positions. I was once pouring a train bridge deck. I was bent over the railing with my feet dangling over the side. I went to move as a train was coming to go underneath and it just touched my boot. Talk about a pucker moment that was. . Anyway one can tell that these guy have good experience. It looks good from what we saw. Looking forward to when they do yours.
