But of course not all Tamils are dark skinned. Plenty of us are wheatish, different shades of brown, sandalwood , yellowish toned colour. There are also alot of Tamils who are really fair like actors kamal hassan or aravind swamy. And I can't believe you used the word "Black". This is the reason I always fall in love with Sikh's and Punjab's. They might be proud about their wealth, success and skin color but when it comes to social justice they go by their heart. They fearlessly take the sides of the apartheid. I am a South Indian and lived in Lucknow when I was a kid .. classmates used to make fun of my complexion. They used to call me kallu , kalia , kaluvey etc. Sometimes teacher also made some remarks. Luckily, I was too stupid to realise that every one was making fun of me. Only 8 to 9 years later , I began to understand the concept of racism / colour discrimination and realised that I was treated like I did not belong there.

Not sure if this is genuine or staged but having faced colourism in India, this video really made me emotional. Colourism is a very serious problem which gets ignored by everyone. Only dark complexioned people like me can feel the pain we undergo everyday.
