I was always afraid of color mixing, but thanks to your video, and simplifying it, I'm anxious to get started. Thanks so much for sharing. Excellent tutorial!

Thank you Jonathan for showing us the endless possibilities and pointing out the subtle tonal differences. I never thought about it that way. I must agree that sometimes three colors mixed together gets a little muddy looking.. this was very helpful . Can’t wait to see the end result of the challenge from all the very talented artists!

Thank you for an Interesting and fun video, Jonathan - very much enjoyed watching you create the different color combinations. The resulting colors were all lovely, but my personal favorites were the greens - so pretty! Excited to see what you decide to go with for the challenge! ❤😊

I literally started colour mixing my AS just last week. I don't know why I never thought of it before - I mix my own watercolours all the time, but for some reason never thought of it for these paints - numpty. 🙄😂 The black and white print-out is an excellent tip for determining tonal values, thank you. I look forward to seeing what you create at the end of the month - always love your work, Jonathon! 🌸

I've never done a strategic planned color mixing before but knew that I should. Funny because there is everything to gain from it, yet I've always been intimidated by the process. Thanks to you, I can see the simplicity and true value. Thank you!!

Very interesting! So many of us just take the color that's in the can and leave it as is. So now we can become daring and move off the X

Interesting exercise, Jonathon. I have a piece I'm planning that has a very orange/coral/grey/white/almost primer red vein marble top on it. Was just going to play it safe with Paris grey but now you have me thinking about being a bit braver. Quite like the Scandi + Antibes blend as an accent . . .hmmmm

This sounds like a great way to break away from your go to palette.

Just wanted to take note that you did the Scandi and Giverny three times (your three bottom left diagonal neutral-ish blue/purple gray tones), yet using different amounts of each color gave a different tone. Love all the mixtures! I have a select amount of colors from Annie and would love to see more color mixing because it really opens the door for creating unique pieces with a limited palette! Thank you, once again, for a great video! Can't wait to see your challenge piece! I have a feeling Christina may be doing some mixing as well as she seems to love more muted tones. It'll be fun to watch you all create something totally different!
