I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Teal or turquoise palette. The issue with having to much variety in a monochromatic palette is then there might be more dupes across similarly toned palettes, I.E. If you have green, mint, teal, olive and sage palettes how many cross over shades would you want? I hoping they are planning for the long game with these monochrome palettes ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

I feel like when it comes to first impressions the looks being similar is expected. You should be able to make at least one full look within a palette. So pulling in other things for three looks is fine. But I generally just grab a pallet when I’m getting ready.so with first impressions I enjoy just seeing what you would do with that pallet alone

I love this palette! The color is fresh and springtime-a lovely change after the grungy greens of autumn. The lighter pigment load makes it easier to blend out until it’s barely there, then come back with the darker matte and some shimmer. But I go for a lighter, monochromatic look and jump readily between other palettes and singles to get the tones I want.

LOVE the blue hair! When I'm using a new palette, I'll use just that to get a feel for the shades, its effect, and how it likes to work. Then my usual is to use 2-3 palettes combined when trying to recreate a look that inspired me, or just one palette if I'm going for something quick and simple. I'd love to pair this palette with the Melt Muerte palette.

For first impressions, I like it to be just that palette, even if that isn't how it would normally be worn and even if lots of people do the same look. Reason being, to me the point of first impressions is to really test the palette and see how the shades apply. It's to see if there are any dud shades, any amazing shades, etc, to see if it's worth the coin. So it should include as many shades as possible, and that is reduced if it's mixed with other palettes. I hate watching a "palette review" and the person has only used 2 shades from the palette. That tells me nothing about if it's a good overall palette and if I should buy it. On the other hand, for other types of videos that aren't first impressions- i.e. 3 looks one palette, more in-depth reviews- I'm fine with including other palettes and shades to make a full look.

I totally understand why you pull in other palettes in your first impressions but personally i prefer when just the new palette is used alone in first impression videos bc im always really curious about the shadows and if you use just the one palette i get to see more of those shadows' performance versus when you pull another palette in you may only use one or two shadows from the new palette... but also i love monochromatic looks and thats not your style! Im trying to get better at using multiple colors though, and you inspire me to do that😊 i also like to use many palettes when i do my makeup too because I'm usually looking for very specific tones, but just for new palette videos i like to be able to see as many shades in action as possible! For first impressions I’d say no to another palette (unless the one you’re working with is a total dud and you need something else to make it work). I don’t mind pulling in something like the flakes or a glitter though as those can help set your look apart from the eleventymillion others. Back to the video! Edit 1: I often mix and match palettes. I like different finishes and textures and not all palettes have enough variety. Edit 2: I love the look you came up with! It would probably pair really well with Blue Blood!

I generally use just one palette when I am putting on my eye shadow. I don't have a lot of time in the morning and sometimes I leave unhappy or I forget some thing else on my face (usually mascara) but I try to have fun with makeup. I don't wear it every day so I can give my face a break, and I have a 6yr old daughter so I want her to see that I love my face with or without makeup.

I do my makeup pretty much every day. I often pull colours from different palettes, but I also like to challenge myself by just picking one row in one pallette so that I use colours I dont typically gravitate to. I also ask my daughter to pick colour combos because she picks things I wouldn't usually pick. I love it! I love creating different looks all the time. I love when you only use the palette in question for your first impressions ... And I also think that with these super monochromatic palettes that have similar (almost too similar) colors it's best used in a "less is more" way... Only using two mattes, one to deepen and one transition in a more packing color blocking way rather than blending them together.... and the one base shimmer. Variation in tone shows up a lot more... 🤗 that's what works for me with them! Love your videos ❤️

I keep a few neutral palettes on my vanity top - All Colourpop neutral 9 pans (Brown Sugar, Night Owl, CocoLoco) so if I need a transition shade, or if I'm doing a neutral look but adding color, my basics are right at my fingertips. I do use some of the monochromatic palettes for stand alone looks, but I consider them more as an opportunity to collect some colors and to try some new things for a reasonable price.

I enjoy using one palette most of the time, and whenever I get a new palette and I play around with it, I want to only use the palette. However, whenever I take my time, I end up adding a couple of other shadows in the look because I can't help it. If there's not an inner corner shade, I definitely go on a hunt for one.

Whenever I use a black shade I go for the Lorac Pro palette, and when I want a nice shimmery top coat I reach for the Too Faced gingerbread themed palette. I'm really bad at doing eyeshadow even neutral looks. All the big pallets are very overwhelming and they've never worked for me. I looove the 9 pan neutral pallets they put out. I bought going coconuts on a whim after you said you liked the formula they had. It's been a game changer! Since then I've started adding the colorful ones in. I agree the colorful ones are not great as stand alones but for a small inexpensive way to play with color they are great. And I don't feel overwhelmed opening and putting say the neutral pallet next to the purple one. I'm getting ready to branch out and maybe try the small juvias place pallets next.

First, your hair looks incredible. Love the different colors in the bangs, sooo beautiful. I think pulling in another palette to complement the monochromatic CP palettes is a great idea to create a different look. I use different palettes when I want to do something creative and looking for certain colors to use. I think the Smoke Show using a black shadow and the Mint Tea shimmer on the middle lid for a halo would be gorgeous. Kind of a dark chocolate mint look would be pretty.

I bought this palette and have used it once and really liked it so far. But I do extremely simple eyeshadow looks with like two shades because I rarely have time to do anything intricate (although I wish I could! 😭). So I think that only using two shades at a time makes a pastel monochromatic palette much more usable. I do think the look you created was beautiful though. im literally planning on doing an aqua color in a few days for my hair! how did you go from a yellow green to a bluer tone? i'm kind of over colourpop's monochromatic palettes. i want them to do a duochrome 9pan and a collective pastel rainbow palette (maybe have a full matte one and a full shimmer version) instead of this and give all their palette releases a break. i don't like them popping out palettes and fueling excessive consumerism and waste.

I love your new hair color! That palette really works well with it. I think you could pair these mints with gray, silver and pink for a Light shimmery look. Or with coral red, berry summery. Other greens and blues also might work well. Perhaps navy to deepen the halo effect. I would love to see strong copper shades and a rich chocolate brown with these cool mints, too, using the mints like a patina. The look you created is really beautiful!

I'm in love with your new hair color! I looked at this palette and wasn't very excited. I am conflicted on adding additional palettes to a first impression video. I think it's better to just use the one palette the first time, but I understand your point about these monochromatic palettes. I don't think just using this palette alone is going to turn out really great looks. Mann you had me nervous with this title... my pallete is on it's way! After the look though I have no regrets. At that price, I can handle shadows that aren't the best. I absolutely adore the colors! To answer you question early in the vid: I oscillate between picking a palette I want to use and doing a look from that and having a look/specific shadows in mind and using multiple palettes. I do my makeup pretty much every day, but I go to work very early in healthcare. Thanks to that I have to keep things simple and pretty conservative so im not late/my patients dont think I'm nuts lol... for those days it's usually just do a couple boring shadows slapped on my eyes. I do push the boundaries of conservative eyeshadow sometimes when I cant help myself! When I'm not at work though i love to go all out with color. Your review had me wondering... what is your absolute favorite of the colourpop mono palettes right now? So far I only have the lilac one and this one on the way, but I'm interested in getting a couple more. Sorry if you've already said what it is!

Lauren Make sure you know if it suits your complexion before you spend the money, the Just My Luck palette looks really awful on me. It looks amazing on others, but I can only combine the colors with something else as on their own they don’t look flattering at all.

For first impressions, I prefer to see just that palette being used because then it really is the focus. When it comes to doing my makeup, I tend to use just one eyeshadow palette. Most of my looks are monochromatic because I’m always nervous of what colours to put together. I know about colour theory but it still prevents me from exploring! I do my eyes first and then my face as I don’t wear foundation!
