What I find so interesting about Sonic x Shadow Generations overall is the stark contrast between the tone of the two stories. Sonic's story is simple and lighthearted, while Shadow's is dark and complex.

What impressed me most about shadow generations was how they made it consistent with the story of sonic generations while taking place at the same time.

Honestly at 3:35 when the second phase starts they should have had Shadow remove his inhibitor rings. It would explain his sudden substantial power up where he's suddenly invincible and practically using a psuedo super form without the emeralds.

That could've been cool, but here's a quote from the game. "When you were first created, the potential of your power was too great. I fashioned those Limiter Rings to keep your power in check. Given how you are now... you must not remove them. You would likely explode. Only remove them in the most dire of circumstances. You will burn like a raging furnace of energy, but I don't want you to burn out."

@@AntiQuaz Yeah I remember that. Gerald said that right? I still think it could have worked well. That quote could have been played as a foreshadow to Neo Doom and this fight being the dire circumstances he was talking about. There's no telling exactly how long Shadow would have before he burns out (maybe when the rings run out) but he could have taken them off to get the extra power and then manage to put them back on just before that happens.

Neo Devil Doom's Final Cutscene could've been a Battle with Spear and Doom Blast as the last mechanic. The entire boss is about Doom Surf, Doom Morph and Doom Wing, but no Doom Blast or Doom Spear except the cutscene or that one specific combo. And the tracks are even longer, too. I get that it's supposed to be for Speedrunning purposes that most of it have patterns but I really hoped there's a Hardest Mode that utilizes all those skipped Boss Patterns and Routes are Randomized and have longer HP.

@Snomrade yeah but like, optional. You wouldn't notice you can do it if you're Speedrunning. What's I'm saying is like an actual mechanic. The Whole Devil Doom boss fight takes full opportunity to Doom Surf (straight line, way too easy), Doom Morph (which I think actually takes alot of timing and skill to perfect) and Doom Wings (which is just the Final Boss Flight Segments). Doom Blast was only used as mentioned, while Doom Spears are literally just cutscenes only. Personally the game's already good but there's like, so many good mechanics that weren't fully utilized. Doom Spears are mostly used in Puzzles, momentum glitch and Mephiles match. Neo Metal was a QTE.

I even learn from the Professor that both Maria and I are linked together, due to Black Doom’s DNA. Sonic: Seriously!?!? Gross dude! Shadow: Want to hear something awesome? I discovered I have Black Arm abilities that help me out in familiar places, and places I’m not familiar with, yet. Like I can fly with a pair of wings. Sonic: Ok, that is awesome! Shadow: After defeating Black Doom again… Maria and her grandfather return to their time, without Black Doom’s influence… I wish I had told Maria about what’s going to happen when she returned… but she told me that it’s better she sees for herself. Sonic: Because of how time travel could alter the future. Don’t worry. You’re not alone. Your family may be gone. But you still have me, Tails, Rouge, Omega, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, and the others as your family. All you had to do is smile and accept it. Shadow: You’re right Sonic. And thanks… brother. Sonic: Happy to help. Corse if Eggman’s grandfather and cousin run into him. I wouldn’t make a joke about the Roboticks being reunited, after what G.U.N did to them. Shadow: I’m sure you won’t be so childish about it. Sonic: What can I say. I loved being a kid! It’s more fun than growing up. Shadow: You are right about that.

Defeating Doom wasn't hard for me, but going for the "Untouchable" trophy took about an hour or so of attempts.

😟 I'm not perfect of this Neon Devil Doom Boss Fight When i try making it to Beat When the Doom Morph I Fall and start over And then when i finish the Boss Fight I earn a Rank C and then i kept Doubting myself over it and the Rank B My skills are not enough And I feel addicted to the Shadow Story, i kept Re Doing the Game Over and Over and Over Again to see if i can get it right But I couldn't My hands keep on Shaking While I was holding the controller I was wondering if you could show me some Different ways for me to be Patient at the game 🎮 and Everything So I can learn how to play better

I think the thing is to keep practicing using the Doom Morph in the open zone Pro Tip: While swinging, release the button when Shadow is directly underneath the sphere and it will launch him straight upwards

It took me a few dozen tries to get an S rank on this one and I still haven’t done it on all the levels yet. I got the first phase down pretty quickly so it was only a matter of mastering phase two

The final sequence is weird. All the features of Super (passive ring depletion, yellow aura, no damage taken from attacks) but he's apparently not Super? Classic sin of modern media: it doesn't have to make sense as long as it looks cool.

I agree, it was cool, but they could've written it in a way where Shadow was also collecting the Chaos Emeralds since space-time was already messed up.

He was getting more powerful due to his new powers, he used the emerald as a chaos energy resource, at the end he probably drew more power from it momentarily to deal the final blow

I mean a large part of the story is that Shadow grows massively in power due to his new Doom powers. And Shadow also glowed Yellow in 06 when he took off his inhibitor rings.

Nah, the reason is simple. Yellow aura was the goodness of his heart which he inherited from Maria. That's why Black Doom had no influence on him. Classic Good beats Evil 😊 Having no super form means that there Is greater power then Chaos Emeralds.
