King Cobras 🐍 .357s were a big draw in 1980s 1990s. Colt offered a few versions at 1 point- high polish, matte, carbon steel, snubs, 6", 4". I don't recall any 8" King Cobra revolvers.

Colt, Colt Custom Shop in CT used to offer DA revolvers in a few upgrade choices- high polished stainless steel, royal blue, a matte type low glare. Grips were offered but I remember all the designs.

I have large hands. I got to handle a Boa when I was 18. It was the first pistol I'd ever handled that felt perfect. Not just the grip but,the balance was great.

I once owned a stainless 38Spl only Python Target I kept as a safe queen (never fired or cylinder turned) but stupidly sold it a few years back. The only Snake gun I ever owned and still kicking my *ss for parting with it.

Lew Horton ordered several custom variant revolvers both from Colt and Smith & Wesson. Lew Horton ordered 5,000 N-frame .44 special 3" barreled revolvers from S&W with bird head wooden grips both in stainless and blued steel. Might be another 'Forgotten Weapon' to look into someday.

There is a 6" BOA up for auction in NH in a couple of weeks. The last auction I saw, a 4" sold for something north of $20,000 and I am sure this one will too. I can't give a guess on one of those sets.

I love Ian's channel I hope he keeps up the great content. Obviously the Python is the most well known Colt revolver so it's nice to see the much more rare iterations of the Colt pistols being shown. The Boa has some nice features and I definitely prefer the steel frame over the alloy framed guns. 😎🇦🇺😉👍

I saw someone “walking” his python at Lake Vasona Park in Los Gatos CA. He got an army duffle bag, and walked out into the middle of the lawn, and dumped out a ten or so foot long reticulated python. A creative way to draw a crowd.

The Colt Python is a very high quality smooth revolver, but I would love you to cover one of my personal favorites, the Ruger Security-Six series, they aren't rare, but they are underrated in my opinion, they are another one that's smooth as silk.

They are a firearms importer. They are legally required to mark the firearms they import. So apparently these were export guns that were later brought back in by Simpson Ltd.

As... interesting as the idea sounds, Ian tends to shy away from politics. Despite BATFE being law enforcement adjacent - the Director is a political appointee, usually needing Senate "approval" ("usually" because the next administration has plans to go around Congress or use "temporary appointments").

When are you going to make a video on the commercial Springfield Armory M-1 carbine. Only 3000 made, the receivers were made by LMT and are considered to be some of the highest quality recivers made for the M-1 Carbine. A true forgotten weapon.🤔🤔🧐🧐

What's the deal with the engraving/etching just above the serial number at 2:41? Reads "SIMPSON LTD GALESB****" I assume the last word I can't read is GALESBURG. Would this have been the dealer who sold this set?
