Whenever I have a games night, my friends always want to play this game at least once during the evening because I narrate all the actions and improvise a story for each round. So instead of saying, "There's no one here to punch. There's no one here to shoot. You're too close to shoot. There's nothing here to steal." I'll say things like, "With no one looking, you take your frustrations out on the train; it does not appreciate that. With no one around to see, you take out your gun and inspect it carefully to make sure it still is a gun. Tuco whips out his gun; Cheyenne remarks she's seen bigger. Dizzy with blood-loss, you think you see something shiny on the ground; turn out it was just your missing tooth."

Picked up the game recently and it has been a HUGE hit with the 15 or so people I've played it with so far. Quick, easy to teach, chaotic, and FUN.

I played it today at the presentation of my local gameshop. It was AMAZING! I'll need to get this!

Was in the mood for a new purchase and stumbled across mentions of this one. Your review has me sold. The talking/laughing dynamic sounds like it would work really well for the type of people I tend to gather up for my game nights these days. I can't wait to play.

@ Julius Besser What's so overproduced in this game? The set up of the trains is a 1 time deal. The trains being 3D definitely bring home the theme imo. I'm not comprehending what's so hard about putting together the trains.
@revimfadli46663 жыл бұрын
The complaint wasn't about putting the train pieces together, but about getting meeples in and out of cars

It looks cool, but how much replay value has it? Some characters abilities is surely broken, but I would give this one a try.

This game looks like it would fit in with my gaming group and will pick it up ASAP. however, I don't like the die-cut people markers (in any games) wish they would have been miniature figures. I have some 28mm cowboy miniatures I use with my RPGs going to see if they can be used

In the team variant of 4 and 6 players how much you can communicate with your partner? I mean, can you show him what tunnel card you are playing, or what card of his deck you have. The official rules are in the expansion of the horses but it doesnt tell nothing about communication.

This game is part of the current red dot clearance sale at Barnes & Noble. I picked it up for half off.

Always a fan of western theme as I think it's highly underused. Maybe its just too light for me, but there just isn't enough here for me. Seems like the gimmicky nature and the feather lightness leads to the lack of legs to justify purchase.

Robbing a train has happened a few times, but not recently. DiskWars:Deadlands: Doomtown Range Wars had a train robbing set. While the new DiskWars Warhammer looks like it has improved production quality, fixed magic/missles, and looks cool, I'd still rather see more scenario possible DiskWars instead of just skirmish games. Train robbing in Deadlands needs to come back with or without 3D trains.

The rule you described that if you are on the top and can move 3 spaces with just one movementcard is not right...you just move 1 space/wagon.....if you play 3 movementcard then you can move 3 spaces/wagons.
@garystephen87189 жыл бұрын
+HALOX30 Incorrect I am afraid. Page 4 of the rules, the Move action. 1 space inside the train, 1-3 spaces on the roof, player's choice. To quote the game "Running on the roof saves you time. Doors and passengers are not in your way."

I suppose if you're one of those boring people who don't like games that think outside the square and prefer a flat gaming board and the same old tired mechanics every time, this game isn't for you. I would suggest monopoly. For the rest of us, this game looks like a ton of fun, and I bought it immediately after seeing this. Thanks Tom

This looks so overproduced. The game could have been played with a flat board instead of the puzzle piece trains that look like a mixture of flat and 3-d. If the board had been flat, then you can grab stuff so much easier than having to sneak into those slots, which just looks difficult in the video.

Not really a fan of this 3D game fad. This game looks fine. But I think some publishers are going to try and push lackluster games through just because they are "pretty". Give me a traditional board any day.....
@ryantrepanier4579 жыл бұрын
Seth Dortch traditional board games were made out of stone and wood (and bone). If you play with cardboard, you are not playing "traditional" board games. It's all about perspective.
@DefiasBrotherhood9 жыл бұрын
Ryan Trepanier Fine, give me a board game that cares more about the gameplay and design and not a dumb gimmick.
@ryantrepanier4579 жыл бұрын
Seth Dortch Why do the two have to be exclusive of each other? You're on a train, being on top and being on the bottom matter. Sure, you can represent that on a board, but isn't it easier to know you have a line of sight standing on the top of the train (and not in the bottom)? Hell, then minis suffer the same fate. No minis, no "real" tokens of any kind. Everything just represented by cubes or something as efficient as impossible... Gaming is an experience. Like it or not, components are a part of that. Good components don't excuse a bad game, but good components can make a good game even more fun.
@DefiasBrotherhood9 жыл бұрын
Ryan Trepanier I think you're missing the point. This game wouldn't be 3D if it wasn't an in thing now. Unless you think the spurious cacti they give you make the game better? Feels kinda gimmicky.
@Spartiatai3009 жыл бұрын
+Seth Dortch You could say the same about good artwork. Its not needed yet it does add extra value to a game, even if subconcious.
