Hey Colt, it’s really great to see you and your son working together on the Jeep. My dad and I use to work on cars together all the time. He started teaching me when I was about 7 yrs old. I buried my father yesterday and watching this brought back so many memories and tears. Never stop working with your son because those memories are priceless Trust me. Thanks for the video and the flood of memories I am grateful.

@@coltbuildsit I’m so Sorry for you loss my friend, my dad was truly my best friend, we have been close ever since I can remember. He taught me so very much about life, living, and how to just be a man. To be honest, trustworthy, kind, caring, and never Lie even if you have to hurt someone’s feelings. My dad was the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back even if he didn’t have one to give. From the few videos that I’ve seen with Your Dad it was easy to see that you were close. And I truly understand the Loss. I do wish you and your family my very best at this difficult time.

Our neighbor hired me to do his super bird tripower carburetors at 9 years old for $25 while he watched. Dad taught us to do big projects in bite-sized chuncks and finish what we start. Be honest ...own your mistakes...make it right...live with integrity...He died in 2010. I learned how to be a good man by his example and mom too. Her dad and my kid brother are watching over me.❤. Put some sticky stuff on the winch hold down nuts to hold them in place during installation. Instead of a cotter pin on the hook, use a tension pin like the one on the trailer hitch pin so it is easy to remove when needed. As for soft tops, they are soft and easily susceptible to damage, unless they are made from Kevlar cloth. Expensive but forever.

Great video colt , choosing a new top was the best thing, the material is all new and better quality, back in the day when was selling 4x4's and the customer wanted a soft top i always talked colour the lighter the better and then proceeded to tell them about the heat difference, i had a little experiment set up, i would put a little desktop thermometer on the dash of each vehicle to show them and they wouldn't believe the difference as much as 25 degrees or even more if its parked at your work or in your driveway , needless to say i sold way more 4x4's with lite coloured soft tops than black ones, going to the Rubicon T-case is worth every penny even if it cost $2000, my friends have done them and bitched about dropping all the skid plates to get it changed, they didn't have a Matco truck around to buy the gear reduction ratchet you bought, its only one day of labour sometimes 2 days , when we were done the trails and hills we went to test it on my buddy was like HELL YEAH ,why didn't i do this 3 years ago it was so easy and worth the busted knuckles LMAO mine to , and in the winter the amount of freaking snow that the Jeep would push through was stupid , almost to the top of the grille , he also did a new better performing trans cooler and said it ran even better and almost never turned on, i don't know what brand it was , it sure made him happy , most of all it made his wife much happier she didn't have to hear the fan running as much anymore , a win win, now he is thinking about Rubicon axles, i guess its true once you get bit by the Jeep bug it doesn't really stop 😂

That's why I bought a 2015 JKU Rubicon. Next you'll have to upgrade your axles. The increased torque in 4 low and you're bound to snap an axle shaft. I didn't like walking up the hill at Matt's off road games and decided I wasn't walking next year. My truck is too heavy for the sand and wife wouldn't let me drive her Yukon through the tunnel.
