I put a 6.2 liter L94/6L80 combo out of a 2012 Denali in my 2011 JKUR about 5 years/65k miles ago. Great powertrain for the JK platform. Can I suggest turning your battery and TIPM lengthwise as it really opens up clearance and accessibility to that right bank. Plus allows a bit more airflow around the right head. I'm running GM OEM wiring harness to remain USEPA compliant and even made the OEM GM engine cover to fit. My goal was also to make it look and perform like it was OEM. I used the Motech MoCAN module to create that "handshake" between the GM ECM and the Chrysler BCM and everything functions like it rolled off the assembly line. I used OEM Trailblazer exhaust manifold to clear my suspension and they worked great, still uses OEM heat shields. I would suggest wrapping the fuel and vapor lines where they route from the right frame rails, around the fuel tank and up the back of the transmission as that area gets quite hot on those lines. I also used a NP241J transfer case with the 2.72:1 ratio. With the 4.02:1 first great in my 6L80 transmission, I don't miss that 4:1 transfer case at all. In fact, the gearing in my GM powertrain is similar to the stock JK Rubicon gearing ratios but with double the torque. Drivability is freakin' awesome, both on and off road. Drives like a Denali with a Jeep body on it and everything functions as designed. Utah has pretty strict emissions guidelines and it passed all USEPA requirements for Utah licensing. I'm running 4.56 final drive gears and with my 37" tires and 33% overdriven trans. my cruising RPM is 2k @ 70 MPH. Returns decent economy, better than the stock 3.8 liter and 42RLE combo on 35" tires. You're going to love it more each time you drive it. 👍 Mike

I love your videos. One small complaint, I find myself constantly turning the volume up and down all the time between your monolog and the music. The music is way too loud, is what I am saying. I am more interested in hearing what you have to say than the music. Frankly, I think a lot of people make this mistake, I personally would not miss all the music people play in the videos. It gets exhausting. No hate, just my opinion. Carry on. You're an awesome creator.

I coulda swore I read an article or a forum chat from a Jeep engineer years ago that the reason a 5.7 Hemi bolts in so nice and clean in a JK is because they originally planned to offer that powertrain, but because of government mandates, safety issues, and so on, they scrapped it for production.

California the only way I can V8 swap my JKU is with a Hemi. Since I have a 2015 JKU the Hemi has to be a minimum 2015. Engine swap has to be same year or newer as vehicle and has to be same manufacturer as vehicle. That is unless it's a pre smog vehicle then the state doesn't seem to care as long as it isn't a gross polluter.
@StormbornJKU6 ай бұрын
Seems like you had to do a lot of “custom” stuff for the engine to work like factory in a vehicle that it doesn’t come factory in. From my little bit of research, I’d say the hemi is more plug and play. Americas most wanted 4x4 makes kits that essentially “bolt in”, making it super easy to swap. And I believe the company is called Motech, and they specialize in LS swaps. Last I saw they got it to where you only need 1 computer, and basically made a more plug and play style to their engines as well. Of course,I’m no expert, and you absolutely know a hell of a lot more then me when it comes to anything vehicles. But those 2 companies are for sure the number 1 companies for plug and play / easiest to do engine swaps for the JK.

Due to the fact that I had a limited time span the 2007 JK could be down, went with the MOTECH kit. I We are not the level of craftsman you are so, It was better for me that Robbie at MOTECH had done all the heavy duty fabrication & fitting. I went with the 6 speed trans because of cost. The 8 & 10 speeds are becoming more popular. Love the conversion.
