Yea, they can't use it fully due to the generic Direct X. Developers don't have the kind of low level to the metal access for like they do on PlayStation - even in Xbox first party titles, all those extra CUs and features aren't even being utilised. While the Microsofts SDK is slowly improving, it's still a long way off reaching the maturity and efficiency of Sonys.

It ain't a mystery the devs are prioritising PS5 optimisation than Series X optimisation. Heck, PC also has untapped power the developers aren't optimising for. The Series X usually gets somewhat of a shoddy port and call it a day. I think only Warhammer 2 actually bothered to optimise games properly for the system. What's embarassing is that Xbox's own first party titles doesn't seem to know what they're doing.

TCL and Vizio has finally updated their higher tier TV’s to run 120fps refresh rates. You can now get 55, 65, and 75 inch TV’s that run 240hz, which is a plus for people wanting to play on a far bigger screen than a PC monitor. The only downside to this is they’re almost double of what the console itself costs. They’re going to run you almost $1K for a QLED 120fps TV. I bought myself one of the newer 240hz refresh rate TV’s, and I must say paired with the Series X it’s a noticeable difference from 4K 60fps TV’s. Some of the games are not optimized to run 120fps, but the ones that are feels like I’m playing on PC.

Only 3 min into the vidoe and this all sounds like RDNA 2 hype when Seires X 1st dropped. All the hype around RDNA 2 features and how it was going to allow full 4k 60 as the standard and how it gave Series X this advantage for game development over PS. Well here we are 4 years later and that still hasn't played out to what was being hyped at the time. I've learned over the last few years doesn't matter what features a GPU/CPU have, it all depends on if the developers take advantage of said features, and it doesn't seem even all the RDNA 2 features the Series X has in it are being used to their full capability! I'm sure there are a lot of factors that go into these decisions by the devs, but I'm just saying let's stop hyping up 1 particular feature and just take a wait and see approach when they finally get implemented into the game.

As a PC guy, I can say FSR 3.0 is great at boosting frame rates by about 40% with games like Cyberpunk with Ray Tracing, but I'll be completly honest from experience. It just does not beat the quality of native rendering. Artificially generated imagery for frames cause allsorts of issues such as noise, pixelation, ghosting and image smudging. Native 4k, without any FSR 3.0 OR DLSS artificial image processing, is the only way to go. THIS requires the best graphics card, a AMD 7900 XTX or AN NVIDIA RTX 4090

what it is that Xbox sx has 52 compute units but the PS 5 only had 36 and the Xbox ss only had 20 units so the developers kept games lower so that all 3 systems could run the same game but now that ps5 pro has come out with its 60 units the developers are now going back and retweaking the games to run better ....that's why Xbox didn't need to make a new pro console they made a console that was already stronger then the ps5 and would compete with ps5 pro when it came out

The way I look at it, Xbox doesn't need a Pro console because Play Anywhere and GamePass PC/Ultimate give you the freedom to build your own Xbox pro the way you want it via PC. They brought Xbox to Windows and my PC became my Xbox Pro, my various gaming laptops over the years became portable Xbox gaming machines, and last year my Ally and Legion Go became my Xbox handhelds. I wasnt locked to playing Starfield or Hellblade II at 30 frames at launch, I can still play with console owners, and I can chat over Xbox live. I've had the "Pro" Xbox experience since back when they launched Play Anywhere and my Series X sits untouched because of it. To put it in perspective, I bought the PS5 Pro. I didn't need it's wifi 7 since its hardwired. I didnt need a 2TB internal drive since I have a 4tb to install in it. All of this contributes to the retail price and Im stuck paying for it if I want their "pro" experience. I understand MS's vision for expanding Xbox outside of the console world and adding a 3rd SKU for a $700+ xbox pro console just doesnt make sense to me.

Developer here, Seattle has no plans on doing a mid-gen APU update. The issue with Seattle is their API and, we as an industry, have been harping for a less taxing DX version similar to the API's that were custom made for Xbox and Xbox 360. Full DX12 is cost savings porting from Xbox to Windows, and vise versa, but it taxes Xbox too much that more time is spent in custom graphical settings for Xbox.

I have a Pro. Love it. Don’t feel bad buying. Most games are multiplayer but majority of them are on PlayStation. As an X owner it doesn’t matter because Xbox will make all companies make the game compatible for the S which holds the X back

@@dhaynes325 I haven't seen any games on PlayStation not available on Xbox that I want to play. I have however seen numerous titles on Xbox that didn't even come to the PlayStation platform. I also game on PC where there is no competition at all in terms of game variety and it's where I play most of my PlayStation collection.

At this point, I don't expect any game to be release at 60fps, and I don't think Xbox should worry about making a new console anytime soon. This Generation has not lived up to the hype of it being the most powerful console. So, all they will do is hype up the next console just to be another let down. I think they should just concentrate on getting a consistent release of good games.

I have a 43inch TV that does 120hz with my Series X. Even with everything checked off on my consoles list, with games like COD ect running with HDR10, Dolby vision for gaming on... They look AMAZING but man is there definitely input lag! DVG disabled and just running HDR10 they look great but the colors seem washed out. so we need compatibility not fidelity!😂

How are people saying they don't want more demanding graphics? Are we completely glossing over the fact one of the 'main' reasons Xbox One lost to PS4 was because it was underpowered, games running at 900P compared to 1080P. The reason people game on PCs is because they can play at a higher res, with higher FPS and settings. Obviously you cant just single out a priority, what matters is you have a balance or you offset it by smashing a category. Great graphics, hardware, integration and games.

Maybe it’s not related, but I have been assuming XSX will receive a performance boost from third-party developers now that they can target the PS5 Pro rather than the underpowered PS5.

@ XSX was the more powerful system on paper versus PS5 yet it hardly ever yielded those results from third-party developers because PS5 was the development target due to market share. The ceiling has been lifted to the PS5 Pro so it is my belief you will see a trickle down effect XSX performance gain.

I know the Pro is overpriced etc but I do wish Xbox would have had a mid gen refresh console. At the end of last gen the best place to play console multiplats was the Xbox One X and this gen it will be the PS5 Pro. Missed opportunity in my opinion

I have no faith in Xbox, though I don’t want them to sink. There are so many little things they haven’t fixed or have issues with lasting for years on end. Whatever they do, it’ll probably be worse than what PlayStation does because it seems like everything they do lacks quality control right down to the UI.

Does this mean that series s will get the same graphics options as series x that didn't allow us to use the full potential of the hardware? Examples include marvel avengers, GTA 5, as well as ghost recon breakpoint. Those games don't allow raytracing or other technological settings on series s.
