The song is not based on true events. But Instead, it is a murder ballad that touches on the themes of anger and infidelity. Traditionally, country musicians took stories from newspaper headlines to produce murder ballads. So this is what Colter Wall is doing, old style country song writing. Brilliant.

I love the way he ends this so perfectly. Bro just found your channel I dig your perspective and video style. If you wouldn't mind I know you would absolutely love this song its by Willi Carlisle and called Angels. It's live has a pretty complicated guitar part (I promise I tabbed it out 😅)... (actually it's not that hard if you have been playing for years but you know) hahaha and the lyrics are so awesome. Nice one iceman if you really like story telling songs Marty Robbins was the best…with songs like Pride and a Badge, Big Iron and ElPaso with a lot more songs that tells a story and some even connects to each other…but Hell Yeah keep it up
