If he could bring one person to Christ through his music...he did. I was an atheist. I was flipping through stations on the day I had planned to take my life and his song "Never Gone" came on. Needless to say, I am still alive and I am a believer in God and Christ now.

Thank God for introducing me to this guy. He is a wonderful, faithful dude with a passion for Christ. And he has most definitely been a major positive influence in my life. "Love has come for me" has been a really big song for me lately, even when I lack the willpower to stop temptation, I know God loves my heart and soul and he makes sure I know I mean more and am bigger than the mistakes I make. So even when I lose to temptation, I'll always come back to him, for he is where my heart will always go. (:

Church of christ? Watch out for some of the things they teach. They say baptism is necessary for salvation! That is so sad. Some people need light, help and truth. Good thing Colton got away from the instrument ban!

Well, in the Bible Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3:5 , "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior is the first step, but it is important to get baptized as-well.

How do you know that Jesus means we are to be baptized by salvation? Paul talks a lot about baptism, but not the kind where we are dunked. I have been baptized, so don't be afraid. Look at the John 3 context. Christ talks about being born in the flesh and of the spirit. Look at ephesians 2:8-9. Baptism is a work. If baptism is a necessary part of salvation, how was the thief on the cross saved?

Sir Rutherford Master of All Things Trigonometric What about Acts 2:38?? It says everyone needs to be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins. You cant go to heaven with sin still attached to you! And what about the verse after that saying its for everyone even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Answering your question about the thief on the cross, that was before Christ died. Before Christ died all people had to do to be saved was believe but when he died and was resurrected he sent the holy spirit which you also need to be saved.

I'm guessing you are Pentecostal, and I have Pentecostal friends. But still, baptism is a work. Ephesians 2:8-9 say we only have to believe on the work of christ. How do you know Peter meant for us to be baptized so that we are saved? Where does scripture say that baptism washes away our sin? Acts 2:38 says that we should be baptized FOR the remission of our sin: as in- because of the remission of our sin.

Sir Rutherford Master of All Things Trigonometric Okay, baptism is a work. But what about James 2: 24? "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." Or James 2:26? "for as the body without spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" And baptism is FOR the remission of sins! what does remission mean? It means to forgive or cancel out, so when we are baptized God forgives us of all the sins we have committed. which is why it is necessary to be baptized in Jesus name! Read John chapter 3 again, it says to be born of the water and of the spirit or we cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Water meaning baptism. He also says "marvel not that i said unto thee, ye MUST be born again." Born again meaning of the water and the spirit. So we must be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Mark 16: 16 says the same thing. Now where does it say that we only have to believe to be saved? you cant just assume if you leave one part of the scripture out you will make it. You have to do all that is written.
