This is awesome! I grew up in Greenville and had no idea you could do this on our rivers
@0fficialnomad Жыл бұрын
Yeahhhh!!! Once I found out just how many rivers are all around us, I realized that we can travel about anywhere by water. It's like having public highways of water everywhere, without the traffic to deal with. Lol 😂

Ohh you should have been in the moment of some of that. It got intense on multiple occasions.

@@0fficialnomad I would have freaked out seeing the alligator. Then you got in the water! I was screaming at my phone "NOOOOOO!" 🤣

@@onionnine All the gators I've seen in person, avoid human activity. But you can bet that if I'm in the water, it's clear and I can see the bottom for a ways. Lol

@onionnine Aligators scare me too. I am in Cleveland, Ohio and the Coast Guards spotted an aligator in Lake Erie and they're trying to catch him. I stay on my boat. I don't go in the water!

@@0fficialnomadThe trick is, stay out of the water when aligators are around, unless I see rednecks in the water. That's how I know it's safe! 😀👍

Hey Nomad. Nice boat. I have questions: 1.) Does your boat have a planeing hull, or a displacement hull? 2.) Does it have a fixed keel, a swing keel, or a daggerboard? 3.) What make / model / length is she? I am considering doing a sailboat to trawler conversion on my Freedom 21 sailboat. She has a fixed 500 lb. shoal keel that has a 2 and a half foot draft and a displacement hull like a pirate ship. I Googled it and it says trawlers are displacement hulls, and outboard engines are okay on trawlers too. My boat has a Mercury 4 stroke. Not sure how many horsepower, but full speed she seems to go 6 or 7 knots.

is that an alligator jumping in the water?

Yeah it was pretty large, and hard to tell on the video because it was so far away.

No worries, the fish I cooked wasn't the same fish I caught, nor from the same day. The one I cooked was HUGE, but unfortunately I can't claim the catch because it was given to me by a passing boater. I appreciate the warning though, I realize that not everyone knows the regulations.
