This episode probably had the smartest killer in the entirety of the shows 30 years running. Corman is smart enough to see though Columbo's facade. He planned every single encounter he would face when dealing with the cops, his colleagues, his father in law, even with Columbo. On top of that he's even able to play Columbo's game of parley with everyone. This man would have been neigh untouchable by anyone except Columbo himself.

Not quite. Columbo is a master of diplomacy. He even prefaced his comment with a statement that he didn't want the two individuals "to take offense." Columbo's stock in trade is information, and his comments were artfully designed to elicit information; not to encourage the two individuals to clam up.

Colin J no but if you have the patience you can start by googling the show and episode and you’ll get to it eventually. I’ve found music I’ve liked on shows this way. This show is really old and you go down a rabbit hole but it’s possible to find it.

Columbus in the 50’s was never more than 10 minutes partly because of programming. There’s hardware and software. The 50’s TVs were mostly hardware and too small so they couldn’t hold longer shows inside them. Nowadays the software programming and larger memory with teamwork allows you to watch all sizes due to the chips and LEDs and Motorola involvement. The circuitry and transistors with programming makes the difference to make an overall racism free product. The proof is in the pudding.
