PATTYCAKE! I've loved that place for so, so many years. From their vendors at local events to my coworker buying me the best cake I've ever had for my birthday, a maple cake. Miss them now that I live in Texas.

Can't believe I just saw Bill Hoy on this video! He and his family owned the Columbus Sign Company and I was his banker for YEARS back in the early 80s. Talk about a colorful guy, he's the epitome of it! We had some great talks in my office and he is surely missed by one and all that knew him and his ability to tell a great story. Thank you WOSU for this fabulous video about Clintonville!

I knew nothing about Clintonville until I got a job on Indianola two years ago and wanted to live close to where I worked. It turned out to be one of the greatest areas in Columbus. Just far away north from campus that you don't see many students, the Olentangy bike trail is down the street from me, the neighbors are friendly, the area is safe and, best of all, you can walk up or down north high to an array of restaurants or bars. Wonderful.

I own a 1905 Bronze cash register that was owned by a madam, brothel owner Grace Backenstoe. Her name is on the cash draw paperwork and on the breast plate! ( Grace )

I lived in Clintonville for 5 years. Biggest bunch of cry babies I've ever had to live with. The neighborhood wants to take pride in being different, and welcoming but as long as it fits their status quo. I took my kids to Indian Springs Elementary after school one night when my family and I got there.. there was 6-7 people there with their dogs just letting them shit all over in the mulch. My son got out of the car and started to play my wife and I pushed my daughter on the swing. 20 mins have passed and my son comes up and says one of the adults keeps staring at him. I told him to just ignore it, and play somewhere else. Maybe 45 mins have passed and I'm getting hungry and the sun's going down. I tell my wife that I'm going to grab the car and pull up I get the car I am sitting there and as my wife and kids approach the car one of the men say something to my wife. I get out and asked what was going on. She said he was yelling at her. I approached the man and said what's the issue. He said my kids are rude they were staring the whole time and he was mad cause he couldn't let the dog run free and I was driving like an idiot. I was dumbfounded.. I lost my cool a little bit and stated my son was staring at you only cause you were looking at him. He came to me and told me. I'm sorry your dogs can't shit when kids play. He's like this is private property. I cut him off said no it's public property and my kids are registered to go here. This is not a dog run. And next time you got a problem. Don't yell at my wife. Talk to me.

Way to close to the idiots on campus. Too much trash and littering. Too many people that love voting for high taxes. Too little diversity, too much crime, and too many people treating the area like a party zone. Not family safe, busy roads, and extremely cramped. Don't get me wrong, it was my favorite place I lived in Columbus, but I was in my 20's and mostly single. Now that I am in my 40s, married with children, I could not fathom living there again. However, some of the best little food stops are in Clintonville. I also loved the Clintonville Community Market which I believe is closed now.

I know every inch of Clintonville by the micrometer. History geography geology you name it from 1965 until 2016. Dead friends, Whole World Pizza, the Bridge club, amusement park, dance hall, food bank, cold cold cold nights to freeze to death, horribly insane post office like Rocky Horror. I cant say anything good about Clintonville, yet I know every square mm.

How about the surrounding counties? Columbus and it's communities it's sucked in gets pretty boring. There's a lot more to central Ohio than just Franklin county
