Lyrics: -Verse1- Don’t cast your shadow on me I’m in the dark And I am stranger than God Black on black is my defense You telegraph and I dodge Nothing to me changes If not for windy days I’d be faceless -Chorus- No! Don’t let me dissolve in to the darkest fringes, Love -Verse 2- You want to be a saviour But I’m your worst enemy A vacant stranger -Chorus- -Ending Bridge- Fleeting the real things are so hard to see now Fleeting the real things are so hard to see now Fleeting the real things are so hard to see now Fleeting the real things are so hard to see now

Comaduster Anxiety in the form of the sound. I was diagnosed with neurosis and panic attacks last year and this song perfectly illustrates what I feel when I have an episode of existensial anxiety. Pure art. But I was wondering, what is the meaning of this song? I think it summarizes the concept and themes/ideas of the record perfectly, but maybe I’m wrong.

@@daytwentytwo This one actually has one of the more direct meanings on the record. It's about an experience that happens between me an certain people. People who want to 'implicate' you in or have your 'bias' underhandedly, especially in public settings. Ex: "At the line at the store, and a person waiting in-line says something extremist or racist, etc, about someone else -- say the cashier, or someone else in line -- and how they 'expect' you to just go a long with it. No. Fuck that. If anything this song is a warning. Anyone who pulls that sh*t with me gets called out. I've got enough dark stuff in my life, I have no patience for people 'casting their shadows' like that. The chorus is slightly detached from the song, and more of an opening for the record. But it's also kind of a 'resistance' and plea to explore the dark with caution. There is a secondary metaphoric meaning. Kind of follows some Jung psychology shadow archetype stuff and emotional projection... kind of handled in the same way as the literal meaning. The song is an emotional 'deflection' (in the more literal sense -- not the psychological definition).

I already loved this song, but reading that explanation made me think about the whole piece a lot more, and now I love it even more.
