I've always liked the stealthy deadliness of a bow and arrow plus the govt. doesn't even know you have one if you can make one. great content. Keep it up!

Bummer… better luck on the next one though. One slight observation if I may… I am no seasoned bowyer by any means but I believe MUCH more bend in the limbs would have saved the bow. I made one last year from Hackberry and probably 45 pounds at a true 20” draw and it’s still going strong. I like to leave my handle area much more ridged to achieve a perfect symmetrical bend in the whole bow from tip to tip. White wood can make a great Comanche style. Best of luck and keep posting these builds!

It happens, love your bow press, years ago I would have made one like that but not so these days. Hard to find hickory that knot free around here for me.

Mr. Jerry It's hard to find a clean one like that around here too. I do like the looks of a knotty hickory bow!

I keep long string as short as possible. To make bending forces more closely replicate forces at brace height. On to next project!

For sure. That's where I made a mistake during this experimental build. Won't happen again.

Very enjoyable video. Sorry to see the limb split that way. I am looking for a bowyer to make this fat, 70 years old man, a Comanche style bow pulling a maximum of 40 pounds at 19"-21" out of fire hardened, high elevation, eastern black gum *(Nyssa sylvatica).* Is this something that you might be interested in? If so, how might I get in touch with you? Thanks again for all of your videos.

I would be interested. Email me a phone number and I'll give you a call. gunghobowhunting@gmail.com

Maybe due to the long string with that much bend? Maybe a hinge hidden by the section of 2x4? Enjoyed the video bud!

Who knows one thing Hatchet Bow Dan has taught me is at the end of the day it's just a piece of wood! I should have put a shorter string on it for sure but It was and experiment.

I like to make experiments with different canes of wood here in the south west of Florida because we don’t have good wood for make bows on this part of the country good video , I like to ask you were you find the chair to buy please let me know thank you

It is homemade but they do make some like it for skeet throwers.

I thought you had to be a Comanche to make anything called Comanche ? Or maybe since they were all killed you get to say this cus they not here to say otherwise ? 😊 either way your make a bow your not a Comanche no matter what you say not matter of you use the same wood I can’t make a Caucasian bow
