very nice and accurate information about Kombai, we have 2 beautiful kombai at our home. somebody had dropped them on our doorstep, they both were hardly 2 week old and it was a rainy season. we took them in and they entered in our heart. They will be turning 6 in this aug. Both of them are so fearless, ready to fight any threat. very possessive about us and our home. no unknown person should come near home or at our home. super protective. both of them are gorgeous. they love us so unconditionally. I was scared of dogs but I just love them. they are full of energy. very loyal, protective, fighters. you can watch them on our channel in dogs bath day vlog. I can completely relate to the information.

Thanks for info on kombai dog. In May 2021, we have adopted 02 Kombai puppies,male & female respectively, who are around 40 days old. To our surprise, we got if for free from a school student here at Indore(MP), who promotes dog Street-dogs adoption. We searched at Google and discovered that these puppies were Kombai. When we realized that the male puppy is missing his family, we brought his sister next day. In fact we were planning for BEAGLE or LABRADOR but realized that they need a big deal of care and preferably are to be kept indoors. We are happy that Kombai can be kept in our yard in a shaded area.Since they are babies now, we keep in a safe Garage overnight. 1st day itself, a Vet vaccinated them and Anti Tik powder was applied on their bodies which resulted in insects coming out from their coat. Immunity-booster and multivitamins are also given. As advised by vet, they would learn to go for easing-out after 2 weeks.Home-made food can be given as they turn 3 years. Right now, we give 5 small meals ; suji powder (Semolina) cooked in diluted milk. Not only by looks and stature, they are Kombais but their traits also confirm it. Tug of war is their favorite sport. Only concern is that we have to ensure that they don't turn out to be aggressive dogs. Right now they are very playful . WE ALL SHOULD GO FOR INDIAN BREEDS AS THEY ARE STRONG AND CAN SUSTAIN WEATHER CONDITIONS. IF WE PROVIDE ADEQUATE CARE AND FOOD THEY WILL LOOK PRETTY, ATTRACTIVE, FEROCIOUS in comparison to the foreign breeds. Please do enlighten me more on Kombai dogs.

Very interesting video and look forward to more such films that promote local dog breeds. I also hope that people will adopt dogs rather than buy. I am an Indian who is working in Muscat, Oman and have two local Wadi mix dogs. The elder one is a 11month male and resembles a Combai Indian breed. We call him Laddoo. The second one is a 4 month female, that was abandoned on the streets and found her while we were out for a morning walk. We named her Papdee. Very loving, good guard dogs and very friendly. Local breeds are very hardy and don't have the usual medical issues that pure breeds have.

Once upon a time, a King in Tamil Nadu raised lions and tigers, and to feed them he raised goats and cows. When goats and cows were available, he would request that dogs be sent as food for the wild animals. One such day, a dog was sent for the lion, the cage was unlocked but to the king's surprise the dog had not been eaten by the lion. The king inquired about the events and ordered that the same dog to be kept in another cage for the next day's meal. The next day they found out that the dog threatened the lion so much that it left the lion standing motionless. The king and his men were stunned to see this and from that day, Kombai Dogs were bred by the king.

I live in UP. I once found two stray Combai puppies just outside my house. I came outside to see off my friend and they came running towards me and started licking my feet. I fed them and wanted them to let in. But due to some reasons we couldn't afford keeping dogs in our house. But I kept feeding them and giving them belly rubs. I also tried to give them bath, but failed. Sadly one of them died a few days later, perhaps due to fever and the other one grew up and mixed up with other Combai dogs in our locality and now I can't recognise him. If I ever decide to pet a dog, I will bring in a Combai first.

I had Comabi dog long back it's very ancient breed in India & TN it will go very well even for first time owner & it needs min 4 hours of exercise & good amount of food & it's very high energy dog otherwise your house is gone not even TV remote will be leftout .Owner needs to spend lot of time with it. Speciality of the dog is it considers that he is family member of the owner and loves everybody. It's not suitable for office goers & it can't be managed in Apartment in cities. It's very lovely , loyal breed & behaves like joker with owner & it's family . 100% child friendly I had seen it's aggressiveness serveral times if he feels the stranger kind of doubtfull person this point he might be behaving like Rottwieler. Like Rottwieler he feels that he is the king of area where he lives & never hesitates to go on brawl if he gets attacked. You can find out the dogs near Coimbatore, Ooty,Tirupur district but lot of fake is also there buyer has to carefull about that.

@shirsoghosh42382 жыл бұрын
It may dominate a GSD, but a Rottweiler? Never. First and foremost Kombai is a hound type dog, while the Rottweiler is a molosser type dog. Molosser are bred for power and stamina to fight, they are guard dogs. Hounds are bred to chase prey, they are built lighter than molosser dogs of similar size. The Kombai is a worthy dog, no doubt. But it can't beat a molosser type dog.

Sir if you want then you can call combai as an Indian Rottweiler 😊 And sir can you please tell what is the difference between Combai and Indian pariah dog .
@DogIsWorld3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shilpi Chatterjee, The Indian pariah, known also as the Indi-dog or In-dog, is an ancient dog breed common throughout India as well as Bangladesh. A breed standard does exist for the dog with the Indian Kennel Club and the dog has also been recognized by the Primitive and Aboriginal Dog Society. A great dog enthusiast, Indian environmentalist, M Krishnan, has written about this ancient dog breed, telling about its wonderful temperament and its hardy constitution. Whereas the Combai is a dog from Tamilnadu, Southern India, developed to hunt dangerous animals by the Indian royalty. It is a rare breed in India, believed to be close to extinction. The dog is also known as the Indian Bear Hound, Indian Bear Dog and Tamil Bear Hound. You can spell the name of the dog with a ‘C’ or a ‘K’, Combai or Kombai. Accurate records as to the history of this dog haven’t been kept, so much of the dog’s history is on speculation, although it is believed with some certainty, that the breed has been around since the 15th century. It is thought that the Combai was developed from Mastiff-type dogs, Pariah dogs, the Thai Ridgeback and Khoisan dogs. And yes you can consider the Combai dog as an Indian version of the Rottweiler. Hope we helped. Happy Petting to You :)
