I've always wondered why my mgs take longer at random! Never put together that it had to do with being in a building. And thank you for explaining why it takes longer in a building, I would've not understood if you hadn't! I've played this game for a long time and always seem to learn something new when I watch a hapless video!

This was therapeutic and calming zen like experience. Info about different time to set up weapons in buildings will make huge difference for me since i always hated heavy weapons teams and thought about them as useless extra weight or even called them worse things. Now i can let go of my anger, all is as it should be.

Ok, this was pretty helpful. Never considered the low tripod requiring some constructive work inside buildings to set up so now I know not to deploy my m240 unless I have that breathing room after I had my fire support quickly relocated. Wish we could spilt the crew into an ammo bearer/gunner crew team for the modern games so I could keep my gun there while I send the ammo team to their truck or a humvee in a safe position

Thanks for another great video. I always struggle with US 30cal mg’s, very difficult to get them set up and firing from buildings or behind walls… maybe it’s the smaller tripod mount as you say but even after they are deployed they won’t fire.
@usuallyhapless94812 жыл бұрын
Potentially. I've seen them shoot through low walls and bocage though, so I'm sure CM takes them into account.

Thanks for this - definitely learned some things, particularly the setup time difference when in a building. Though. I still have the issue of never seemingly having my MG teams in the right place at the right time. I don't know if I'm just unlucky or horrible at utilizing them. I know they aren't exactly supposed to be racking up kills, but most of my campaigns end with my MG teams scoring no kills at all
@magnusred29452 жыл бұрын
MGs arent gonna get alot of kills usually, you use them to pin people down while your maneuver element closes and destroys
@ARescueToaster2 жыл бұрын
@@magnusred2945Thanks for the response! That's typically what I try to do / how I want to use them. And I should clarify that my MGs usually not only get no kills, but they also usually never fire a round. I think I'm just using them entirely wrong, particularly in modern games where if and when they spot a target and engage it, they tend to eat ABHE or one of those thermobaric RPGs that splat infantry.. and that has me maybe a bit overprotective of them. So maybe it would be better to try and keep them up with the infantry lagging behind just a little bit, as an anchor / base of fire? Though my Strykers / APCs are already doing that..

AFAIK there is a minimum number of pixeltruppen required to operate a heavy weapon. If losses are too heavy, the team cannot operate the weapon anymore. I had this issue with US mortars and MMG teams. Do you know what is the minimum crew number mandatory to operate a heavy weapon?

I have a question, if you were to split of say a scout team or something and give them ammo for a machine gun, if you were to place them next to or on on the MG team would they give them the ammo?

They'd start sharing it when the MG team runs out, yeah.

Does experience/rank help with setup times? what are the effects of injured/dead team members have on effectiveness? Great info as usual, could we get a more advanced spot on this?
@usuallyhapless94812 жыл бұрын
I haven't actually tested it. In theory, there should be a hard limit on how fast setup can take, because physics. On the other side, clearly a crack team with it's full complement should be able to do it faster than an understrength conscript team.

Great video man! What is the best way to have those machineguns fully loaded? If you leave the vehicle/ammo bearers nearby, does the crew use that ammo as well or do you need to go to the vehicle and get the ammo manually? Cheers mate!

i couldnt find any vehicles that contains heavy weapons ammo types that aren't bein used (cant be acquired and cant be shared) like .50, 40x53, 13mm or 30mm, am i missing something or was that a oversight?
@usuallyhapless9481 Жыл бұрын
For the US there should definitely be some unarmed humvees around.
@zgthor Жыл бұрын
@@usuallyhapless9481 they dont carry 50`s or 40x53, only the armed ones do carry those ammo types, vehicles like the AAV`s or armed trucks are "Greedy" they dont have any spare, you cant acquire from them, i might have missed something but i spent around an hour looking every vehicle in the game and the manual to see if i missed something but i doubt, do you believe they might patch that or are we stuck with low ammo?
@zgthor Жыл бұрын
@@usuallyhapless9481 So for example if i where to put a .50 sniper team or some hmg`s they would always suffer from low ammo unless if i where to spam m2 humvees which would force a certain play style, while ideally i could just get one or two AAV or armored truck that already has that ammo type and share it amongst the troops

Ta very much! The maps are from the training campaign.
