Combat Mission: Cold War - Clean Gutters AAR

A quick AAR getting back into Combat Mission after 3 years off of making videos for it. This scenario is tiny-to-small scale so don't expect anything to crazy. Ideally we will be getting into larger scenarios in the future. But playing through, recording, editing, rendering, uploading, etc. is multiple days of work even at such small scale, so hopefully I can work back into speeding up the process. Combat Mission AARs are a lot of effort to put together, more-so than any other games I currently play, so hopefully you enjoy.

Currently gobbling up all the Combat Mission content on youtube that I can consume. I don't play the game but find it fun to watch. This is probably my favorite video that I've seen in a while. Great choice of camera angles, no annoying post-production transitions between shots, easy to understand captions, no BS just straight up gameplay. I also enjoy videos with commentary but sometimes the commentary borders on too cringey/grating for me, so this is totally fine. What I'm trying to say is, I will look forward to more Combat Mission from you in the future lmao.

I would certainly recommend getting one of the CM games when they go on sale.

@@user-is3ku4tg9onahnotgonna I think Battlefront's prices are complete BS, they know they have a monopoly on their genre and they're abusing it. I did 'you know what' to enjoy the titles.

Nice to see some Combat Mission again. Was the KIA/wounded ratio for the Soviets actually 1:6? I'd usually expect it to be more KIA than wounded.

Not sure how the engine handles it, but either the Soviets had enough time to buddy aid or (my guess) the battle ended early enough that the casualties didn't expire. I'm wondering if this was an hour long battle if the wounded would eventually end up KIA. I was perplexed by the ratio as well but due to the short length of the mission I assume this is what happened.

Vastly prefer the company-sized and smaller scenarios. Problem is finding them with a decent AI. :(
