I wonder if you reply to any questions or if there is a place where we can discuss this. Talking about everyone whos trying to follow this series. I got a couple of problems and checking a video of 45 minutes again after I already did it twice is not that pleasant. I already did but my arrow get stuck in the finger and it doesn't get destroyed. Also, the arrow is poiting to the left a bit and I checked every single position adjustment it only happens when the arrow is draw and ready to shoot. Ohh and my arrow shoots backwards... lol

@@melted9699 It's a tragedy they haven't posted in so long. I would follow any of the HP builds you see on KZbin, and I would hook whatever code I write to apply damage into the Get Hit Operation code. One of the inputs is the attacking actor, so you get a reference to whatever damage they're supposed to be causing thru that and then apply the damage to your actor's health. I usually use a float variable for health, and I use an ActiveWeaponBP variable that belongs to the Combat Component. So I'd use the attacker ref to get their combat component, and then get a ref to the ActiveWeapon so that I can get its damage. Probably place the code right after the hit montage plays.

After shooting the arrow, the bow sticks to my characters wrist and i am unable to attack or switch weapons, please help

I wish this tutorial did not piggy back from your other tutorials. It would be nice to see a Bow and Arrow from an original ALSv4 Template without all the extra work you have done in previous videos

I'm still new to unreal and have been trying to modify what you are doing myself but haven't had much luck as it keeps getting called on in the next episode. your work is great and so far, the best out there but I cant seem to be able to get it to work properly.

Thank you very much! Your lessons are great! Please write down a lesson (if it's not difficult for you) on how to make the character pick up an object from the floor and hold it in his hands, and when you press a key, throw it like a ball. Something like, take a grenade off the floor and throw it.

DON'T forget to set Layering_Arm_R to 1 otherwise you wouldn't sheath the weapon when changing overlay. rewartched this over 5 times playing it literally frame by frame and couldn't figure out where he set it to 1.

Hi! I'm using your draw fbx animation but my character is not facing like showed in the video. He is looking straight left and not at crossair pointer , am I missing something? I really like how you implemented everything, it looks up to par with the ALS system which is already very good. So if you wanted to make a second sword with different animations, damange, etc. what would your approach be? Don't you think it'd be better to build every different weapon as a different actor and store the variables there instead of everything in the Character Base and Anim Man? That way you only use what you have in that actor. Same with guns. Genuinelly asking because I'm having trouble figuring this on my own too 😅

I think the best way is make weapon blueprint for this then make childBP for each weapon. So you can cast to that weapon from anywhere you want. This way will be easy for implementation in the future. I recommend​ "UnrealGaimeDev" youtubr channel for this, he is very good with array and class.

Any approach to make the aiming offset look at mouse position? For shooting the arrow at mouse position on a top down environment, the thing is, already have set up the mouse intersection on the world and have an idea to control the rotation of the character, but don't have a clue on how to make the aiming offset look at that place, meaning the up and down. Any clue will be welcome !

Check the transition rule from fire arrow to draw arrow, look into that variable if you set it correctly inside both combat component and anim BP.

@Danfour For me the problem was with input of the lightattack. I still had 'switch on ALS rotation mode' enabled. I still want this for my sword/punching attacks so I just added a 'switch on ALS overlayState' and only connected my fist and sword overlay.

Hello. I'm sorry, I'm not good with FPS things. But I think you can do any system with ALS from youtube tutorials by knowing how curves on ALS work. Take a look at EP7 so you might understand ALS better.
