I'm a fan of ww2 aircraft and the Yaks were a great aircraft. Unfortunately the Yak design bureau did not continue that success post ww2. Still its nice to see a legacy company still around.

in my opinion, yak-130 will not replace or even doing side-by-side mission together. su-25 are armored plane that was built sepcificaly to attack ground target. while yak-130 are made to fill role of trainee plane and light attack mission (bomb droping) like korean t-50 golden eagel. if yak-130 do the same mission like su-25, 100% they will get destroy. but, if this plane are used like su-39 bomber, that actualy can work.

I don't agree. The Su25 is extremely rugged and can even use diesel fuel. It has heavy armour and redundancy to be in harms way. The Yak could do more from higher altitude or greater distance though.

No. The Su25 is has a titanium reinforced cockpit. It also has multiple layers of redudancy, and is very difficult to bring down with AA artillery. This is a trainer, and is not designed for such harsh conditions

Yes. Another great and modern advanced trainer + light combat aircraft with inexpensive price but high quality product. When the testing is done and can be made for mass production, please offer it to Malaysia. We Malaysians love affordable and value-for-money stuffs. Currently we just bought Korea’s KAI FA-50 Block 20 fighting eagles (a.k.a. FA-50M as Malaysia’s variant). YAK-130M would be a good complement for our Royal Malaysian Air Force, as we already had decommissioned MiG-29N, in servicing SU-30MKM and F/A-18D Hornet. So far, Malaysia also let Russia knew that we are interested on its SU-57.

Relatively inexpensive, very flexible, true ASEA radar and hallmark Russian lower operational costs vs. the Western aviation equivalents, as well as all the other goodies that make it an effective weapons platform. This is obviously aimed primarily at the export market, however I would imagine the RuAF might be interested too, as a modern replacement for the venerable Rook.

Not a Su-25 substitute.. and it may be best for the up-graded radar and EW to be under wing.. I would suggest any country to use the Yak in tandem with a real dedicated and armored attack aircraft (Su-25) The Yal130 does make for a good on site command aircraft.

@@alexandrvasilev2865 Bangladesh has been using Mig 29 since 1999. Those aircrafts haven’t crashed even once. So the pilots are definitely not at fault. Maybe it was a technical difficulty or something. Bangladeshi pilots are definitely used to flying Russian Aircrafts.

Shouldn't Russia put more emphasis on a simple and cheap plane just to drop glide bombs on targets? It seem making very expensive, super advanced jets doesn't have the same payoff as drones, glide bombs or even missiles do. How often do dogfight happen or stealth missions deep behind enemy lines? I think glide bombs, drones and hypersonic missiles is where money should be going.
