We asked, you delivered! Many thanks, and it was great to see my comment requesting this content front and centre in the montage too. Loving this series, happy to follow along with all you do to this T4. 👍👍👍

Oh man, those look way cleaner than what I uncovered 😂 And yes, that cardboard strip is not machine washing resistant, I too found out. Great video, I wish I had found it before I started that project.

My vote is sound system as you've done a fair bit of sound deadening etc. recently. Really interesting to see a budget sympathetic mod rather than something with £££s thrown at it. 👍

Cheers, I’ve just ordered one from you. Really nice Clear instructions thanks. I’m still not brave enough to do it myself, so I’m getting a mechanic mate of mine to do it.😀 I’ve sent him this video hopefully it will help him.

Love the T4 videos! Got one myself and everything I want to do you are covering here so that's brilliant🙂 I'd like to change my original VW stereo which isn't working properly and a bluetooth version would be ideal and maybe upgrade the speakers so would like to see that being done. Really enjoying the vids Thanks👍

I’ve refurbished several T4 seats, one niggle though, we shouldn’t attempt to wash the squab cover in a machine as the retaining cardboard strip will fall apart. I use a plastic strip which you can buy on a roll from AS Trim (not affiliated, just a company I use and trust). This strip must be sewed in place again though and you’ll need an industrial machine or Me!😁. I love the shows guys, I’m often watching and revisiting just to see how it’s done

Could you maybe do a buyers guide for T4/T5 common issues and things to check and look out for when buying one?
@TwiggsT44 жыл бұрын
Both drivers and passenger seat are the same and interchangeable, probably the reason the seat had worn on the inside coz its been swapped with pass seat, thats what i done to mine, the collapsed drivers seat i swapped for the passenger seat, at least i'm comfy

great content thanks. I found all the slow motion a bit unnecessary as it just makes the tutorials too long, but apart from that very useful. Cheers

I have just brought a T5 Kombi van i would like to take the rear alto flooring out as its soaked from the roof rails leaking which i think we have fixed ( me and my partner i mean) only problem is the front carpet which was factory fitted in the front cab is stuck to the rubber alto flooring in the rear should i prise it apart of will that split any ideas as the floor underneath is soaked and under front seats where lots of wires are and while the weather is dry i want to dry it out before it starts to smell hope you can help, love V cap too

about the seat being more worn towards the middle of the car. i don't know if it's only a left hand drive thing, but every time i see a young guy in a car they always lean so much towards the middle of the car that you can't help wondering if they are constantly picking something up from the passenger floor :P Kinda like driving with stretched arms on top of the steering wheel, it must be painful in the long run :P

Too bad you skipped the part of gluing the crack in the seat! My seat has a crack and quite some foam missing. Would've been very interested in how to restore it in some way. Beyond that, fantastic comprehensive video!
@roadiesean3 жыл бұрын
AGREED !!!! So much slow mo on pulling them off and putting them in but the two bits of important info we all need, gluing the crack and WHAT TEMPERATURE the washing machine was on, never mentioned. Come on. This is a great vid but we need the info !

seriously you need to get some REAL workhorse vans through your doors if you think THOSE seats are dirty! ive had them where the seat cloths were LITERALLY black with dirt. they shouldve been light grey!!

Great stuff, really informative and easy to follow! I have a question for you. I have a 1995 T4 with rancid, decaying seats, particularly the drivers. Would it be possible for me to take a passenger seat apart and use the parts to assemble a drivers seat? Any advice would be much appreciated. Love the channel, keep it coming!
@justmestephanie12694 жыл бұрын
Why not just switch the seats from side to side ? It would be easier. The basic parts are interchangeable i believe , except where certain controls are on their designates sides . Otherwise the cushions , headrest and armrest are all the same .
@gordonblues8433 жыл бұрын
For 175 quid I must say, I'd have expected a perfect seat. But then again, you promoted the guy's breaker's yard, so it seems a but churlish that you had to pay at all.
