This is really helpful. I’d like to see more of these webinars in the future. I learned a lot (as a patient for many years). I was particularly interested in treatment of co-morbid depression, ADHD, and narcolepsy. It’s interesting that the approach is to “stabilize mood first” or “treat the more severe condition first”. It helps me understand my provider’s logic. One thing to note is the presenter’s comment that there are no real interactions between ADHD stimulants and other medications. I personally have found Trintellix to interact with stimulants and so I’m a bit confused as to why that’s the case with me versus the norm.

You say that Vyvanse/Elvanse is generic now. What are people's experiences of lis generics? I ask because I used to take Concerta, but I was asked if I would use Xaggitin to save money. Xaggitin wasn't as effective, so I returned to Concerta. Now on Vyvanse/Elvanse, which is better. Great video. Thank you.

Read quite recently that methylphenidate isn't good for people who have Dyscalculia. I can't recall why.

Making Math Rule-Dr. Berg--that’s the solution. My child couldn’t do anything math until I learned his methods. I was incredulous-in 40 minutes, I learned she could easily multiply. I was stunned. Watch his videos on the 9-lines. Go for a walk with your child and just talk about one of the tables: I did the 8’s. By the end of our walk, she learned, forever, her 8’s. The next days, I did it again, 7’s and 3’s; so on. So, the 3rd grade teacher and the psychiatrists were wrong-they said, “She just can’t learn math.”She’s now a senior in college, not a math genius, but able to get through Geometry and Algebra II.

Interesting that you found the neurofeedback to "not be so helpful". I wish I would have had more of that feedback before I spent a lot of time/money [three days/week, up to 4 months] with that when I first realized I had ADHD. I had the fairytale fantasy that maybe I would be able to avoid meds altogether. Then [when not so successful for me in the long term], I thought maybe it's just that it is less effective for adults vs. in childhood, before those neural tracts had a chance to become so deep [I was in late forties, or around 50, when I tried neurofeedback]. I also wondered if It might depend on the type of neurofeedback [different results for different methods, each provider believing their method is the true or tried method]. I could have saved myself a lot of time and money if I hadn't pursued it. Lesson learned.

Are you in the UK? Last Winter 2023/24 it was hell trying to get meds. It was only because I was so bloody minded & relentless that I got mine through. I don't think I made myself popular, but you do what you need to do.
