I like this function. I've utilized the Filter function to return the stacks after watching this works a treat and much easier!!! Thanks

Thank you very much. Do I have a way to preserve the original formatting such as colors or bolds?

Thanks for the tip, but I have a question: how can I use this formula in combination with INDIRECT due to variable sheet names?

Hello! Do you have a video that does the basically opposite of this. my son has started a lego business where he buys boxes of Lego and builds the sets that are in them, sells them when complete. rinse and repeat basically. he has expanded it to a point now where we cant keep track of it properly. For Example if I have a main sheet for 'products' and on that sheet I can have a column for; Set Name, Set Number Code, Location, Set Status etc. Now having 'Set status' as a drop down menu i can have a list of option, say; Incomplete, parts ordered , Completed, Listed, Needs Shipping, Shipped, Sold. and all of these drop downs be a separate sheet. so if i need to buy parts for sets, i can go to the incomplete sheet, see what sets need Parts, order those parts and when they have arrived and the sets have been completed we can just change the status on the main sheet to Complete, and that will update the the file so it is removed from incomplete and added to complete. i hope this makes sense

Is there a way to do this with out getting duplicates ? I'm looking for something to import new data only. Like fill in data where its missing, but not re-add the data that is already there.... i hope this makes sense.

I understand this is just an example, maybe in real life those tables are better used as named type range so you can dynamically stack them without problem in case they expand vertically.. right? thanks for the video
@TeachersTech10 ай бұрын
My preferred method for this would be power query to bring all the sheets together and clean the data. Easy to refresh for new data.

@@TeachersTech yes, it's the right way to go, totally agree 👍 But, for large datasets, maybe python pandas would be more efficient?

Could you please send the link of your video on basic excel for beginners if you have one? I'm just not good at this. I just need to know the basics on starting out for the first time. Thanks

Nope i don't have the microsoft 360 subscription..only have the regular desktop version so vstack does not work for me.
@nikosmakrymanolakis304210 ай бұрын
I'd do it with named tables, and then just VSTACK(Table1;Table2;...). And when lines are added/deleted on original source tables, VSTACK output will adjusted automatically. Why bother with lines?
@TeachersTech10 ай бұрын
Yes, using spill functions like VSTACK, tables are a great way to have it dynamically adjust.
