Combing my Sisterlocks out after 9 years

Sister loc and loc you have to spend a lot I had locs the journey was beautiful but I didn't know alot but I know now ......I learn that sister locs and locs is not a vanity her style it's a way of life if I do it again it will be no dye hair and will listen to my inner beauty and what is natural for me just me God that help me in brace my hair

Instead of pulling the tool down the hair to loosen the locs I started wiggling it around and poking at it gently with slight movements down in many directions. Rather than one motion down. It took longer but I ripped out a lot less hair. The ones I combed through with a tac lost around 60% of length. When I wiggled it around to loosen it then gently combed it afterwards it was almost the same length while curled as when it was locked. The hair I did it with has small waves rather than coils though for length reference. I can’t remember which KZbinr recommended filing down the tip of a thumb tack so you don’t poke yourself while doing it. I used my nail clipper file.
