I started my dreadlocks during lockdown and also I had to shave my mums hair due to chemo therapy. She passed away due to cancer on my birthday last year and it became a "brush it out or not" situation. Taking dreads out is definitely a personal choice. Depending on how old he is, a person's hair texture can change as they age. My hair use to be very tight younger I could get a fro and in my 20s it started to get looser. And now it can't even stay in braids for long periods of time. I even cut all my hair off and never was able to get my 4a curls back. My doctor said puberty and hormonal changes affect hair. My mom's white friend hair use to be straight now she had big ringlets of curls

I just combed mine out. It took a week. My hair was to my waist. It took about 3-4 hours per loc.

The next time if there is a next time You can also soak your locs in a conditioner massage it into the soft texture hair. Then if you are able to have a medal rat tail comb use that to loosen your locs & you won’t have to rip so much hair out also the hair you see in the shower once you shampoo it, is the hair that naturally sheds on a regular base when it’s loose mixed with some of the kinks. The conditioner helps the brittle parts of the hair😊

Don’t be worried or anything, just dive in💜 I promise you won’t regret it, and starting with curly hair honestly looks good especially if you already have length, kinda slowly transitions you from the curly looking twisties to soon dreads. Go with your gut but don’t fear anything you can always take them out before its to late

One thing you should definitely start doing is disclosing that the shampoo your advertising is your own company for those that don't know.
