2:58 I think another reason that suits are so popular for slashers/ killers is how detached they can make the killer seem. Like killing is "just business" or "another day at the office." They can also provide great contrast, e.g. the killer wearing the mask of a relatively calm and professional person in public, only for the mask to be removed when the calm business man turns crazy for blood. You also mentioned that a possible appeal of suits is the anonymity that they provide. That actually reminds me of one of my favorite lines form the Addams' family, "I'm a homicidal maniac, they look just like everyone else." Suits help emphasize how, much like real life, the killer isn't always a heavily breathing creep in a mask hiding in dark alleyways. The killer could very well be the business man next to you on the subway. It's the horror of hiding in plain sight.

If we give him a non threatening name then how is that going to be scary? like if we call him larry i would probably laugh it doesn't instill fear in the viewer and if it doesn't do that then it defeats the purpose of a slasher its why you don't hear horror bad guys with the name Bob or Larry its called horror genre for a reason making it non threatening takes away the whole point

One thing the Fear Street movies (a surprisingly effective and entertaining addition to the horror genre) got incredibly right in regards to character design for their serial killer characters: the killers were sometimes very grotesque in the face, large in build, and wore a frightening mask that was almost never removed to enforce the idea that they’re emotionless killers. You mention that this character wearing a suit drives home the concept of overpowering male presence, but it’s not frightening in execution and at most just has some intimidation. I think there were other creative ways to take this idea of the scariest serial killer character EVER... this just strikes me as a low-budget horror villain or creepy pasta oc with very little substance in design.

Jennica Ley yeah but again, there’s very little substance to that concept. it’s also why people sexualize/romanticize serial killers and slasher villains. The idea of a killer with pretty privilege isn’t scary, it’s uninspired :/

Maybe he was a kid who liked horror movies. A bully made him snap and he started killing. He took after all his favorite horror slashers and became infamous. As he got older he stopped for a while as the police were catching onto him. One day, he was looking at the dead body of one of his victims mother and it brought him back to his glory days. He began killing again but with a different style as not to draw the police back to him.

It would be so cool if you made different weathers into cute girls, like the sunny girl would be really fun and energetic, the cloudy one would be really lady and grumpy and would just want to eat in a blanket all day, the rainy one could be kind of sad but relaxed to hear the rain and stuff, a windy one could be really agitated I think. You could even do a rainbow one if you’re feeling extra, I know it’s not a weather, but I think it would be cool, she’d be kind of both sunny and sad, someone who changes her mood really quickly or something. I think with colors it would be also really cool and I hope you see it. I know I wasn’t really creative with they’re personalities, but I just didn’t really know what else to think, and you could think of the rest on her own, you’re very creative
