But it's pitch black outside, the cheery lights hung up on everyone's house seem to have suddenly gone out. Then, there's a rasping of what seems like claws on brick. I have a story for the Grinch. They say a couple years ago an old man used to terrorize kids who were too loud on Christmas. Every year the bad kids would go to his house with their loudest toys just to mess with him. The particularly mean kids would ask anyone who got instruments if they could borrow them just to mess with him. One day he couldn't take it anymore so he ran away to the mountains to get some quiet, but people were louder than ever now that he was gone, and the loud toys would echo off the caverns into his home. Soon he stopped leaving his house. They say the noise of a busy city was too much for him on the rare occasion that he left for essentials. He no longer shaved and his face or body and the mushrooms that grew in the caves were all that he had to eat. Over time the bright green moss he used for a bed dyed his hair green. If it weren't for the noise it would've been a livable life. If it weren't for that noise. That d*mn noise. On and on and on, every day for hours if rang and echoed in his head. Through morning and night... That noise noISe NoIES NOISE... For year's he tried to bear it, but a man can only take so much. He reached out to dark forces to bring him an ounce of peace, so they gave him the power to stop it. His extra hands and slender body let him crawl through the chimneys of the loudest houses to silence anyone who bothered him Finally, he's happy. He's free. He can rest in peace... And so can they...

So a story for Rudolph: You hear the thumps of the hooves against your roof as you slowly awaken due to your light sleeping. You walk outside, hoping to see Santa hopping out of the sleigh and making his way down the chimney. You back away from your house, attempting to be far enough to see on top of your house. You see the unusual antlers of the reindeer, as the reindeer stands where the light of your icicle-shaped Christmas lights end. It finally steps out of the dark and what you notice first is it’s nose, you pause in fear until, you finally get enough courage to run inside, lay in your bed and do nothing but hope it doesn’t come down the chimney. You stare at the wall, until you grow too tired to stay awake any longer. You fall asleep for around an hour until you wake up, having a weird feeling that something’s wrong. In fear and curiosity, you walk back out to see if the reindeer’s still there. You notice everything’s gone except Rudolph. Your lights begin to blink, making it too dark to see. The nose of the reindeer shows all you need to see, like the fact that you notice the reindeer stand upon the remains of the others. Tbh I tried to make it as long as yours.

I feel like Jack Skellington, (specifically when he is impersonating Sandy Claws) would have been a natural choice for this concept, seeing as he already inhabits that nebulous overlap territory of creepy and festive, but perhaps that would have been too obvious. Honestly all the Rankin/Bass holiday specials alone have plenty of unsettling material for further installments of turning beloved Christmas icons into terrifying monsters. I guess it's to be expected when pretty much every character is mean and terrible. "...The Bumble, strange and fearsome creature of the North..."- Yukon Cornelius (also from Rudolf) a giant, abominable snowman creature possibly inspired by the legend of the Yeti or Wendigo and the Winter Warlock (from Santa Claus is Coming to town) who like the various iterations of Jack Frost, symbolize the historically harsh and deadly winter cold are pretty eerie already. Hell, just the notion that Saint Nicholas frequency associates with literal demons such as Krampus and more rustic and sinister companions that are dark reflections of his jolly benevolent persona like Knecht Ruprect who are tasked with punishing misbehaving youths is evidence enough that Scary Christmas is a valid and well documented interpretation of the yule season.

How I used to see Christmas movies when I was younger:

Rudolph: Since the young reindeer was born, he was always bullied by his red nose and the fact that he was different. He was so bullied to the point where the other reindeer accidentally threw him off a cliff. When Santa Claus saw that, he went to see the body and resuscitated the young reindeer, because, well, the dude literally can literally walk in and out of people's houses when he pleases, so why not resuscitate a freaking reindeer? The bullies had children and the whole story would be Rudolph trying to drive his bullies to the same cliff he died on, but at the same time, he wants to give the bullies' kids good parents, not like Rudolph's parents, so he basically teaches the bullies a parenting lesson and if the bullies don't listen to him, Rudolph basically threatens them to throw them to the same cliff he died upon. The Grinch: A young kid goes to his school's Christmas costume party as his Original Character called The Grinch and confesses his feelings to his crush (this was on Christmas Day). The crush accepts and the bully gets frustrated, so when the kid went to his home, the bullies cornered him and they chopped his arms off with an ad and threw him off his chimney, but he got stuck. Now, when the bullies became adults, The Grinch came through their chimneys and tries to kill them. The bullies' children decide to do an investigation about this Grinch. The Grinch's eyes are yellow because that's what he saw before he died: a bright shiny yellow light from his roof's Christmas ornaments. There can also be a heatwarming moment between The Grinch and his parents before he goes to Heaven. The last one: ♣Two bros, helping Santa Claus, accidentally scaring people and bicoting at the work place.♦ ... It's a Christmas Horror Comedy Cartoon.

Rudolph- I was out in the forest, near christmas time, i was humming to the tune of 'The 12 days of christmas'. Some of my friends had gotten it stuck in my head. Suddenly, i heard crunching in the snow, but, it sounded like it was behind me. I froze and the crunching didn't stop, I whipped around, what I saw was- It can only be described as a horrific creature of *hell*. At first i thought it was just a reindeer, but before I could sigh with relief, my terror was renewed.A red eye glowed at the center of it's face, surrounded by a fleshy swirl. What appeared to be fang filled jaws were hungrily open, one on it's stomach and one on it's left hind leg. It had humanoid hands where there should be hooves, one reached towards me. I booked it, I ran like the devil himself was chasing me when i heard the snow crunching behind me. Once I got inside and slammed the door, i was safe- Well for the most part. I locked the door, recalling the hands, I heard it attempting to turn the doorknob, but eventually it left. I will NEVER come remotely close to that forest again. The Grinch-I was a young child back when I saw it... Y'know the ol' doctor seuss story of the grinch who stole christmas? I saw it, the grinch... It was christmas eve, around midnight, I was *convinced* that I would see santa. I was looking out the window, admiring the neighbors pretty lights. Suddenly, they were gone, I rubbed my eyes and looked back at it, still gone. I assumed that they had somehow died, or got unplugged. I heard scratching sounds from the chimney and turned. A green, furry, hand stuck down. it grabbed the side of the fireplace exit and a begun to pull the rest of it's body out. I didn't wait to see the result. Let's just sugar-coat this to say... I miss mum and dad... I didn't do heat miser bcuz i don't know much about this movie

Heatmeiser is actually one of my deepest fears. I refuse to watch Christmas movies with my family now because they all have a negative tie to these puppety characters that haunt me so much. "Goodbye Christmas" It's late at night, and you cannot sleep due to the joy of Christmas Eve. You decide to get up and go get a glass of milk. You tiptoe across the wooden stairs, down to the living room. But something catches your eye.. all the joyful and colorful lights everybody had up for the holidays, seemed to have gone out. "That's weird..." You mutter to yourself. You think about it for a bit, and decide to catch santa doing his yearly delivery-of-presents. Since some of the Christmas spirit is gone due to the conpletely dark lights. You sit infront of the fireplace, waiting, and struggling to not eat the cookies that lay above the stockings. *Thud!* you hear a noise above the roof! "It must be Santa clause-" you whisper. *Creeaaaakkk...* "Oh my golly he must be going down the chimney." To your suprise, you see a red hat lined with white fur, and a suit! "S-santa..??" You ask the figure in your chimney. Wait a minute.. the figure seems to be- green..? You don't hear any "Ho-ho-ho!" nor a "Merry Christmas" Maybe he is scared, I'm not supposed to be awake right now. You begin to walk away.. "Wait." An utterly voice says. "You stole everything from me.. you and all your stupid 'whos' So I'm going to steal the thing that keeps you alive.. can you guess?." You begin to scream, but your voice seems to have gone away. The green santa pulls out a considerably big kitchen knife, and crawls over to your feet, pulling your nightgown down. He begins to carve a heart-shape where your heart would be. He pulls off the peice of skin he cut, and forcefully pulls put your heart. That's all. Your last moments were pulled from the memories of jealousy. Goodbye Christmas.

I made a horror story thing for the grinch picture. “Santa?” Cindy-loo called. Only the silence of breathing and scuffling noises replied. She stepped down a few steps. Ashes fell from the chimney and fell to the floor. Fear crept across Cindys mind like a parasite. A green hand expended outwards, cloaked in a red and white sleeve. Another hand slithered, knocking more ashes. “S-Santa?” Cindy called again, shaking with fear. A head emerged, two small yellow eyes looked around before spotting cindys. A smile grew and a red tongue slithered between two green lips. His head made a cracking sound as it cocked to the side. Two other arms gripped the bricks as she recoiled in disgust and fear. No words can from the beast, but a low growling sound gurgled at the bottom of his throat. He turned it to the other side as his tongue extended outwards. His claw-like fingers gripped the floor. “C i n d y l o o w h o, w h a t a r e y o u d o i n g u p?”
