Combining Target Curves Using REW (Discussion)

I combine generic target curves using REW with the merge function. This allows you to pick and choose sections of target curves that you like and allows you to tailor your targets to a sound you enjoy. Combine the bass from one target with the treble from another to create a perfect combination.

I'm guessing here that this curve would help listeners who also have purchased tall or high backs seating that covers up to their head and blocks line-of-sight to the rear speakers. Looking forward to the rest of this topic but loved whats been covered so far. Thank you

Absolutely yes. My seats are quite high, and now after calibrating, it's sounds very good. It's definitely shown me that there is a roll-off in high frequencies, caused by ears, and even seating. Using different target curves to augment this sounds amazing now. I'm not sure if the differences between the two are exactly right, but it's certainly a start, and I now have more clarity in sounds behind me.

Excellent tutorial Carl! Any chance you could share those Wisdom target curve files on a Google Drive? Also, do you recall which video you watched that they were calibrating the Wisdom speakers?

Have you done dirac live with your new A1H? And NAD has a target curve you could upload aswell. I found the NAD target to work superb with music and storm woth movies.

Not yet, one day I will, not sure when yet though. I'd like to see more videos of people calibrating with Dirac.

Great video. How do you make different targets remain onscreen? Trying with REW V5.40 Beta 43.. I am not able to show various targets curves in All SPL tab.

You have to select them on the left, and make sure they're ticked at the bottom for them to show.

For me, it's a combination of both. I like the clarity of the Wisdom, and the bass of the Harmon.

Well, speake4r level bass is -10 lower than point one bass. That's how they can use the same target.
