Love this 69!!!!!!but lolz...... I have to differ a bit on him saying what defines a lowrider is spokes and supremes and only whitewalls!!!hahahahhahahaha!!!!!Sorry sir ITS A LOWRIDER!!!!! not all lowriders only ride spokes and Supremes!!!! Not all lowriders have Hydraulics!!!or AIRBAG'S!!!! in his mindmthe only thing differing this car from a lowrider is his wheels!!!!!Let's break down!!!I'm thelowrider car club in in..ROYAL IMAGE CC YAMIMA,WA CHAPTER!!!We have so far 2 classic Impalas with airbaged systems.. a 1964 SS....and a 66 Impala rag!! Andnwe also have care with hydro's!!! So this ride is a lowrider!....but...people need to stop with the labels.... Also hydro setups these days are awesome...and having properly wrapped frames keep from hurting your classic car!!!and you can get a very comfortable rude with hydros if they are installed right and with the right shocks and settings....my 69 Custom Coupe daily driver is in the process of being restored... Its gonna either be dark rootbeer candy.....or jet black with light candy patterns on the roof....I like spokes....butbinlove the old school 70s lowrider era look of a 69 on 14x7 Supremes.... Still haven't decided on Hydro's or Bags yet....can't wait ........ROYAL IMAGE CC 4 LIFE!!we just passed the 42nd year fro our club starting with our mother chapter in LA......

Thanks for the compliment, but I have to disagree with you brother, my car is a restomod not a lowrider. I want you to know, that I have owned many lowriders, my dads last car was a 65 Impala on 14 inch whitewalls and Supremes. My last lowrider was a 63 Impala on Cooper whitewalls and Dayton's. You say "sir" your car is a lowrider but bro, if you google Lowrider magazine the Bible of the lowrider world, and view every cover, you wont see a car rocking 18 and 20 low profile tires and billet rims. Every cover shows whitewalls and spokes or supremes. Now there are euros and mini-trucks that may have low profile tires but they are also rocking spokes with that set up. The other variation may be an early Chevy bombita or similar car but they are sporting whitewalls and hub caps. The cars you mentioned with the air ride system....what are their tire and rim choice bet ya its whitewalls and spokes. It may have been wrong for me to make the statement about ALL lowriders having hydro's yes I do know there are lowriders that have air ride but, 99% of all LOWRIDERS have whitewalls and spokes/supremes. With that said, could you please give me the definition of a restomod and then your definition of a lowrider....also what makes my car a lowrider? and not a restomod. Once again, not taking your comments the wrong way...if your a car guy, you are my brother and its all about the car, but there are things that clearly define the different genres of cars,whether they be lowriders, muscle cars, mini-trucks, pro street, pro touring, imports, stanced, restomods or, stock, and sometimes the things that define that genre of the vehicle is ever so subtle but if you know you know....if you don't, you don't. Thank you for viewing my video and good luck with your 69, I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Adding hideaways makes it look great!. It was a Caprice only option along with headlight washers
@69airride3
@69airride3 4 жыл бұрын
Yes...very good, hideaways were only a Caprice option. So what I did was purchase a stock center section of grill from the junk yard. I cut 2 pieces from that grill to fit over the stock headlights location, I made some mounting tabs and placed them as such. Of course they are stationary but it gives me the look and all I spent was 25.00 for the grill section, couple of cans of spray paint and thats what I came up with.

So when i was like 3 or 4 years old my parents owned this same exact model 1969 Caprice\Sport Coupe with the dark green metallic color and the Black vinyl hardtop that thing was huge and it was a very nice solid car. Sold it and it was on sale for less then 20 minutes when it was sold and people were fighting over it back in 79. Then my parents bought a 1982 Ford Thunderbird limited the Luxury small door coupe with the digital dash and all the electronic gizmos Ford could throw at it. Was brown. Car was so comfy so nice to take drives in. The Car Had all the luxury trimmings but when it came to reliability it sucked. the roof lining caved in. The Transmission had to be rebuilt service twice , the AC blew and had to be repaired the Many little Gremlins and before it reached 85000 miles the thing was in 87. So it was not even driven all that much but for a Ford 85000 miles was way to much. Sold it for cheap. At this point my Parents had bought 1 old datsun truck and since it lasted so long they bought two more Nissan Trucks 1 4x4 and 1 shortbed 720. Since they lasted so long my parents decided against Ford and went with the Toyota and they ended up buying a Showroom Floor 88 MK3 Supra Turbo!!! Yes sir and to be honest after 85 and beyond they never looked back at Chevy or Ford again. Everyone of the vehicles from the Nissan to the Toyota we still own and were still mechanically sound with over 180000 miles or more. So this is where the division begin. You can see how this all ended with Ford. Now I would like to buy the Caprice again and put it back into the family hands for nostalgic reasons. Would I buy the Ford again? Maybe just to see where that Line of quality and reliability switched from the Big 3 to the Big Japan 3 and where the history of the American brands begin to falter. Sad but it is what it is.

just wanted to add my two cents here..Excellency at its best. I'm a Chevy Impala guy. I'm restoring the exact same cat in my little two car garage, and I am thinking of going restomod as well. At times it seems like I'm in over my head, but seeing cars like this and platforms like this show helps to keep the motivational levels high. I'm starving for wisdom and knowledge, so any comments, ideas, concerns or suggestions are much welcome. Again amazing car and the 67 Seafoam green Impala Fastback is my favorite. Thanks guys.

Wow...Thank you brother, I too did this in a home garage and I too felt overwhelmed many a time. All I can say is keep at it, focus on one area of the car at a time ie. engine bay, chassis and drive-line, interior, body what ever needs attention first and what can wait. You fix you break, just goes with the territory of this hobby of ours. As far as building a car in an area like a small 2 car garage is totally feasible. Since you will be spending many hours in that area (the garage) try to make it as comfortable and efficient as you can. One day at a time brother, if there is anything I can help you with please feel free to email me 69Airride@gmail

Just so you know, you are talking directly with me, Casey, the host. We would love to feature your car once it is complete if we can. The reason why I make the pitch for people to help out if they can at the end of each video is based on the fact that this is a self-funded show. We have had help, no doubt about it. But this is something I am doing out of my own pocket. So if we reach the point were we can travel by the time your car is done then we can certainly get something worked out. I would love to travel more across the country and feature cars from all over. The best thing people can do right now is donate if they can. If they can not then I ask people to share our videos, like, subscribe, etc etc. This is really meant to be your channel. As you can see by Jay's comments, we have outstanding guests and that this is a true enthusiast driven show. A long reply, I know, but I want to be as upfront with you, and everyone, you watches this show. - CJP

You funny bro. We are not talking about a matching number super low production number car here. I like, enjoy and respect all work done by owners on their cars. Is stock my cup of tea….no I prefer some customization but thats just me but I can truly appreciate and admire a well done stock restoration. And once again this Impala is not a super rare matching number 427 4 speed super low production car thats a different scenario, but for you to say that a Restomod or lowered car=ruined car just shows that you may be a very narrow minded person and not truly a real real car guy. Could we see your car?

Ordered a 1969 Impala from dealer in 1969; same color as this one - Lemans blue. It was a 250 c.i. six with turbo hydromatic , (not power glide). Had over 600 mile range on the highway. Beautiful car. Was destroyed one night while parked by a hit and run. Miss that car. Bought a similar colored car 50 years later as a reminder of my first car.
