Waterman was stuck behind a guy called Josh Kennedy which is why he wasnt able to stake a claim prior to now. He was kicking cricket scores in the WAFL but was playing on the wing etc in the senior side because all the key forward spots were taken. Ironically, its helped his gas tank. He took a ball at centre half back on the weekend, two disposals later he is leading out from the square to take screamer!! Im thinking ''how da fark did he get back there so quickly??''. It was close to 90 yard sprint, to the goal square, he had to stop, then sprint 20 yards toward the ball carrier and then had to leap and take a pack mark!! I tell ya, the fitness of these modern players is on another level.

What a jet and equally as nice a chap. Probably the closest thing we will ever get to what they call a franchise player. His brilliance is seemingly inspiring the team to new levels. Optus stadium is quickly becoming the house of pain once again.

@@user-vr4lz1vu5z All of them are right up there for sure ,but what I've seen in Harley Ried for me personally he reminds me of Gary Ablett senior. The marks he has taken this year and the 2 goals he kicked against Melbourne were nothing short of sensational. The goal he kicked giving the don't argue on Christian Petracca and burning him off kicking that goal you just don't see that kind of stuff in first year players in previous years . He has the potential to become one of the all time greats as early as 4-5 years from now

@@PeterM1-qx1tz Absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind that if Reid signs a meaningful extension to his current deal sooner rather than later that there will be a number of knock on effects. We’re already witnessing it. Other than him being away from his family, I can’t see anything that isn’t positive for him staying long term. His way of life and earning potential will not be any better anywhere else. But I’m not him obviously so we’ll keep our 🤞.

Great player at the Blues, but his best work was with the Eagles, alongside Kerr, Cousins and Embley. There's something to be said playing for a club that has the biggest membership in the land, and 3/4 of the state supporting you ; ] They have a good back office at the Eagles as well, Mathew Knights has seen the ups and downs of a hyped up young player (he was a young gun himself) and Schofield is a hard as nails kinda guy, I think with Simpson they have the whole ''Ying and Yang'' coaching stuff covered which can only benefit a young man like our mate Harley ; ]

Goes to prove, when a side that loses player's to mandatory concussion retirement, has devastating injury lists, other off field tragedies and lots of season ending surgeries and recoveries can achieve with some great youth injection and a little time can do.
