when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. i have found more books to add to my tbr and i found some that are other booktubers favorites! that is why i bring you a huge book haul / book unboxing that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i got this month and me losing my mind over some of the new book releases coming this year. booktube and booktok has buzzed about some of these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them. i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with more books to add to your tbr and some good book recommendations for 2022!

The Book Thief is hands down the best book ever written (In my opinion). I first read it in 2016 and it was such an emotional read. I love Zusak's writing and the humanity he brings to death as a character. I read the Book Thief once every year, seeing it in your haul I take a sign it's time to read it for 2022. Also the movie adaptation is a very good as movie adaptations go!

Omg I would love to hear your thoughts on Skin of the Night by C. K. Bennett (it’s a romance book; a series actually). I don’t think it’s a super known book but I think the characters are interesting. But what I’d really like to hear you talk about would be the author’s writing style. I brought some books this past week. Target was doing a buy one, get one 50% off until May 7th. I caved and brought 4 books. "The Maid" by Nita Prose, "Book Lovers" by Emily Henry, "Ramon and Julieta (Love and Tacos Book 1)" by Alana Quintana Albertson, and "Seven Days in June" by Tia Williams. I have not read them yet. lol.

While I really enjoyed the Book Thief, I definitely had wayyy different expectations of what it was going to be. Go in knowing that it's pretty slow-paced and there's not a ton of action. It's definitely a lot of daily life, but I thought it would be more of an espionage, high-stakes kind of book. 🦋

You should try "Yerba buena" by Nina Lacour. I don't know why I like that book, but it's good, the vibes and everything??! Cheff kiss. And maybe you'd like a Laura Gallego book. Especially los guardianes de la ciudadela, I think that one and memorias de idhun are her best jobs. But it's all about personal taste. And I'm not recommending cien años de soledad because you already own it.
