Well as much as I didn’t want to hear this lesson it proved beneficial and motivating for me in my endeavors as a caregiver to my quadriplegic spouse. This is my stewardship right now and it is really hard due to his poor Heath in mind body and spirit. I appreciate the reminders-God is my Father of Light, he was, is, and will be by my side; and to invite the spirit continually. 🥰THANK YOU. I did not understand this perspective after reading on my own; when I tuned in today it was a blessing from Father and the angels he sends my way.

We see what we want to see in the world. If you want to see other people's weaknesses and failings, you'll see them. If you want to see their strengths, you'll see them. If you want to see God's hand in your life and in the world, you'll see it. If you want to see a world devoid of God, you will. And when it comes to ourselves or other people being incompetent at callings or assignments, we could just make a "Failing at Callings" club and every human could join it. Because it turns out that being perfect is pretty hard.

I’m grateful that one of your stewardship’s are teaching us the gospel through scripture. I love how you teach and work together. Your minds are in tune with each other and combine so seamlessly. It’s like you each have something very important to say and you allow each other your time to say it. It doesn’t matter if one of you are mid sentence. You both give each other that Grace. I love that about both of you. xxxxx

Thank you! The last couple videos have felt directed to me. I just got called as the ward Primary President which is amazing and overwhelming all at once. I've struggled most of my life with doubting myself, but I'm not doubting the Lord, so if He calls me, I can do this with His magnifying power. Plus, I'm surrounded by really wonderful ward members to work and counsel with.

When my grandson was in the 6th grade, he got a "niceness" award for volunteering to help a handicapped boy. When I praised him for his service, he humbly shrugged and said why shouldn't I? and then he added, "it was fun". My grandson is such a sweet, caring boy who loves serving others without reward. Perhaps this is his errand from the Lord at this time of his life. When he puts his mind to doing something, he sticks with it until he gets it. Perhaps he is another "Caleb", Emily!

I have a grandson who is having serious behavioral problems. As a grandma, my mission that I came up with to help him, since I live far away, is to write him a letter (via post) every week. Each letter tries to teach a valuable principle. Your lesson gave me several ideas.

I struggled for years to find out for myself that the Church was true. My search began at age 12 with the missionaries, but prior to that I was a devout Catholic. My grandparents (through my stepdad, who joined our family when I was 6) loved me to pieces regardless of my belief in the Gospel. My grandma wrote me and my twin sister letters filled with love and encouragement and she ramped up that love and encouragement as we girls were taking the missionary discussions. Even when we were dismissive of her faith, Grandma never ceased to counsel us and cheer us on. Those letters and that love mean so much to me as an adult. I’ll bet your grandson will likewise be blessed that his grandma loves and encourages him, even if/when he’s not behaving in a very lovable manner.

Uh, first @Barbara Brunson, you are WAY to young to be a grandmother! Second, I think it’s a great idea to get back to the basics of putting pen to paper and writing to your grandson (again way too young) a letter. Not only are you giving great advice, but you’re probably the only one giving him the experience of actually receiving a letter. It’ll pay off.

This was so needed for me! I had scheduled a meeting with my bishop today to go ask to be released from my calling due to some scheduling conflicts and other concerns. I received so many prompting and thoughts throughout this lesson of how to ask for help instead. I think we forget that we don’t have to do it all ourselves (like you said!), but it is also ok to ask for help from God AND our church members! Now I get to go in and ask for a co-chair and see if we can get some more members on our committee and I feel so good about continuing on and not giving up without trying some solutions first. SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS THIS MORNING!

My favorite use I have for the Doctrine and Covenants is to underline certain scriptures that have certain meaning to me as I have randomly read. Over a period of time I have quite a few verses underlined. Then when I need some direction in my life, I randomly open up pages and find a verse or verses I have underlined before. Those same scriptures will give me reassurance of what they meant to me then, as well as even more direction for me now. I love the D&C for my own personal direction. It is not a cover to cover story like most books. It is mostly just pointed advice on what I need to do. It is definitely an inspired book.

I’ve got a question. Didn’t Joseph have scribes that were much more educated than hews, writing down the revelations? It would seem to me that there shouldn’t have been much of an issue as far as spelling, grammar and punctuation goes.
@guidathebestest
@guidathebestest 3 жыл бұрын
I think the task wasn't to correct the language. The issue was the suggestion that Joseph had written the revelations himself, i.e., that they were inventions of his own mind and not the Will of God, thus the challenge by the Lord in ch67:6-9 was that the doubters attempt to write a "revelation" and compare with what had been given to Joseph.
@TheGrams56
@TheGrams56 3 жыл бұрын
@@guidathebestest I don’t agree with you. From my reading and the understanding of what I’ve read, I don’t think they questioned their divine source. What they questioned was whether the words sounded like they came from God. They felt like the revelations sounded to “Josephy” (for lack of a better word). The word language is used twice in 67:5, I think this is a clear indicator as to what their problem was.
@guidathebestest
@guidathebestest 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheGrams56 perhaps you can take the challenge, and rewrite a revelation so it sounds more holy.
@TheGrams56
@TheGrams56 3 жыл бұрын
@@guidathebestest I apologize that I offended you by disagreeing with you. I never said that that was the way I felt but that’s how I feel that those who were on the committee to decide what to do with the Book of Commandments felt. I would never even consider taking that challenge! I am no where near worthy enough to try and do that. I have a very strong testimony that Joseph was giving the words of Christ. Yes he was human and made mistakes but the Lord talked to him in the language he could understand. FYI, when I study Come Follow Me, there are 5 different channels that I watch on KZbin that enables me to have an informed opinion. Even if I didn’t and this was just my opinion, that’s great. That’s the beauty of agency! We all have the right to our own opinion and it doesn’t make either of us wrong or right. Just different, which is exactly how God made us!😊
@guidathebestest
@guidathebestest 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheGrams56 I am in no way offended. I think everyone ought to take the challenge, if only to satisfy their own mind on the likelihood of someone with Joseph's education producing the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and etc without divine intervention. The Voice of the Lord is quite different from the language used by the prophets. Quite obvious to see in ancient scriptures too.
