I love that that picture of “Pool of Bethesda” is a favorite. Because I have completed a work of art, a large full coverage counted cross stitch, of it that will be hanging in the new Salt Lake Temple when it is Dedicated. I can’t wait until I can go to the open house and see it hanging ❤️💙💜

I can think of a few people who have really been catalysts for my faith, but I will honestly say, you two are numbered among them. David spoke my thoughts when he said, “I want the familiarity you have with the Divine.” I feel that way about both of you! Several years ago my daughter had an MRI for a possible brain tumor and the results were delayed for several days. It was the most sustained fear I've felt, and several well-meaning people told me to not be afraid, just have faith, which I didn't find very helpful. Since then I've pondered about fear and all the scriptures that say, "Be not afraid." Today I realized they all come with reasons to not fear: It is I, be not afraid; or fear not, for I bring you tidings of great joy; or fear not, I am with thee, I will strengthen thee. I wonder if these scriptures are meant to be less of "don't feel your feelings" and more of comfort and redirecting your thoughts to the source of help when you do inevitably feel afraid at times. PS I've happily served in primary for 6 years, thanks for being my "adult class" every week, it's made a big difference to my life.

I have the 2nd coming masterclass and it is amazing! So much knowledge about the grand picture as well as our personal, individual pictures. They bring all of the scriptures together to show you the whole picture. I've never learned so much about the 2nd coming. I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for this lesson today. I love that you brought out that sometimes we meet people in their vs. 30 stage-doubt--but we can't judge them on that because they have most likely had a vs. 29 and will have a vs. 29 again. I have had my experiences with doubt but because of Jesus' grace I have had vs 29 moments again. However, many times, I feel like I look like a hypocrite because I doubted. The lesson today made me realize I don't have to feel that way because of the enabling grace of Jesus and His love for me in my doubting moments, I too, had my miracle because of Jesus which strengthened my testimony of Him and there is no shame in that. Thank you for helping me to stretch each week and helping the spirit to be present to teach me. You both are blessings.

I love that you covered verse 32, it so often is skipped. I've seen many depictions of Peter walking towards Jesus, or reaching up through the water, or Jesus reaching down into the water, but the one I most want to see is the two of them walking through the raging sea together back to the boat, Jesus with his arm around a dripping Peter. It's too bad we often associate this story with the moment of Peter's doubt when there's so much positive we could be focusing on instead. And I find myself doing the same in my life, focusing and worrying about my past challenges without giving myself credit for the successes. When Peter tells this story I wonder which part he puts the emphasis on?
