My absolute favorite hymn is Come Thou Fount. This lesson FINALLY explained the 2nd verse for me! "Here I raise my Ebenezer huther by thy help I've come. And I hope, by thy good measure, safely to arrive at home..." THIS is my takeaway from the lesson. What a beautiful & sentimental tribute! So much so that I want to build our own Ebenezer with my family! Thank you for sharing this!❤️❤️❤️

We have a calendar that’s a “record” of our family blessings. The calendar doesn’t have a year just days of the month and we write in blessing that our family has received. Things like baptism dates, the day my husband left on his mission, the day my father in law found the gospel, even things like when my 3 year old fell out of a 2 story window and was fine. My kids add little things that were important to them too, it’s really cute. We check the calendar all the time to remember any passed blessings that happened this week or day. It’s fun 👍🏻 my kids think of it as our family record

This has always been one of my favorite Bible stories, but even more so as an adult. There is so much depth, symbolism, & nuance... Your description of the 5 smooth stones inspired me as I taught a special Primary lesson yesterday with dads & kids. We had a realistic, life size Goliath on one wall, & after telling the story, we talked about personal Goliaths. The kids & dads then decided what their own “5 smooth stones” were, wrote them on pieces of paper, & the kids got to throw their “stones” at Goliath! Thank you for your preparation, that helped inspire me in my own preparation. It was a lesson & activity never to be forgotten. The battle has already been WON! We just have to decide which team we’re on… “that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel”. 💚

Just a note about stones (Ebenezer), when David made a comment about the world or there being a lot of influencers (I can't remember the exact wording). The thought/memory came to me of seeing so many painted rocks while out on walks or hikes. There is goodness at the core of someone wanting to share a positive message.

I know why the journal we receive, and what you write on the board is different, but this week, it hardly gives me any clues as to what to write in my spaces. I even tried to figure it out going to the scriptures. Not being the scriptorium both of you are. I am stumped on some of them. Loved your presentation today. I especially love the story of David. I am also enjoying the timeline you made for us to follow. Thanks for all your time and effort on our behalf.

They are different because the workbook is copyrighted by Deseret book so they’re not allowed to be exactly the same up on the board. I wondered the same thing and heard David explain it once.

At the ark encounter in Kentucky (definitely worth seeing) they built what looks to me to be an “Ebeneezer“ like you were talking about. Each of the tribes of Israel stacked a rock on top of each other after Joshua brought them across the Jordan river as an altar and memorial to remember everything the Lord had done for them. Is this what you are referring to?

What happened to the board? It doesn’t look at all like what’s in my 2022 journal. We want a king! This references 1Sam 7:5, 11-20 says nothing about a king. Help!!

I agree!!!! The board definitely doesn't look like my journal!!!!
@kelliebuckner10772 жыл бұрын
They say David made a mistake and it should be 1 Samuel 8:5, 11-20. The board doesn’t usually look much like the journal. It’s like sometimes they give us a starting point with the journal and we do the discovery ourselves as we go through the scriptures.
@diane12462 жыл бұрын
@@kelliebuckner1077 Yes and I do get by that way but this time there was nothing on the KZbin board that resembled what was in the journal. It’s okay I’m not complaining much. I love their videos.
