Into The Drowning Deep was amazing. I'm a chicken though and don't like the open ocean so it sufficiently freaked me out.

Lovely video capture. The scenery of the neighborhood is such a beautiful backdrop.🍁🍂 "What moves the dead" T. Kingfisher.

Omg the fairy tale cover from the UK is so different 😮 very pretty! The American one is more spooky imo, loved the way you filmed this vlog! Not sure if you use an assist or if you just have killer steady hands 😂

Love We Have Always Lived in the Castle! One of those books that has an atmosphere that sticks with you, Shirley Jackson can't be beaten on isolated houses imho Into Thin Air was unnerving for me but I don't think very scary

Loved We've Always Lived In The Castle but it's more whimsy than scary. Interested to see what you think of all those books. There are some good short stories in Susan Hills The Travelling Bag and Other Ghostly Stories.

Loved this vlog, Beth! Honestly, your editing and cosy vibes get me every single time 😍🥰 this was the perfect video to watch on a Sunday morning and I really must visit Oxford - it looks like a beautiful city and so many bookshops too! I read Bird Box a few years ago and can definitely agree that it did chill me - I was certainly anxious whilst reading it! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this and The Exorcist - I’ve never watched the film as I am a coward 😳 I’ve just started reading We Have Always Lived in the Castle and I think I am going to enjoy this more than Hill House 😊🤞

Ooh, that's so interesting, I really enjoyed The Whistling. Might be a matter of expectations. I did listen to it though, that might also have added to it, I really liked the narrator.

So many favourites in your horror haul 👀. I don’t get scared by books, probably because I can’t visualize anything when I read lol but The Shining has a few scenes that got me. + Bird Box has great tension!

You should definetly read Into the drowning deep! And it is quite scary especially if you're scared of the ocean. I read Dark Matter by Michelle paver and even though I'm not usually scared by Horror but there was one chapter that was extremly unsetteling. So maybe Thin Air is the same

Mira Grant is really good! Into the drowning deep is actually scary, but don't read it on a boat. The scariest books i've read is written by T. Kingfisher, both The twisted ones and Hollow places are scary, especially The twisted ones!

The author of Eeny Meeny is making me think of the all female Ghostbusters. There was a Mansion in the movie with his lastnight in the title 🤣

Darkhouse by Karina halle absolutely terrified me. The romance is pretty bad and it reads like a typical book written 10+ years ago but I highly recommend for the ghost hunting horror set in an abandoned lighthouse. Also fairly certain there is a lot of the "oh I'm actually talking to/ touching a ghost"

Hi! I almost forgot I heard an audiobook which scared me to dead: The Roommate by Dervla McTiernan. Just a note: if you want to be really scared, read it in bed. Kiss

Feed is great! The whole trilogy is great actually. The middle book was the weakest for me, but I still loved the whole trilogy.

I hate it when horror is mixed in with other genres. The last time I went in Waterstones in Oxford they were in the middle of expanding their manga section and had condensed all of their horror books to five shelves and didn't have a very good selection.

I am sad you didn't enjoy Paranormal Activity. You do need to pay attention because things happen in the background that you don't initially pick up on. You have to be very observant with this one and also the second. The first was a very low budget film. The house they used for filming was one of the directors apparently. The second has more jump scares.
