You should try the works of Susan Hill. She writes incredible stories of the macabre. Or did. She mostly writes mysteries now.

Will definitely be getting The Spirit Engineer. I remember Andy West when he was a journalist for BBC Northern Ireland. Plus I live in Bangor where the professor's body was found & was totally unaware of his story so really interested to read it.

What a cool encounter in Waterstones!! Will definitely be getting that book. Lauren ... re: Titanic. .... have you seen Orphans of the Storm by Celia Emrie?? It's a story about two little boys who survived the Titanic sinking. It's really good.
