The best way to keep from having the onions burn your eyes is to have a fan blowing on your back. It will blow the onion vapors away from you.

Wow! Daphne Oz said that the reason you ‘cry’ when you chop onions, is that the chemical in the onion is attracted to the nearest source of water (which is usually the eyes). If you place a wet paper towel next to your chopping board, the onion will gravitate towards that, and not your eyes. It really works! No tears! Thanks, DO! 🧅 🔪 Sharing !!!

I use to make my own soup mix and dry it. Good way to clean out the garden. Put it up in jars and just throw in a few handfuls when you need it. I also canned up my veg. mix for soup and I canned it in a tomato mixture. Then when I made soup, I added the meat I wanted. But it was also good just as it was. Great for the end of the garden season.

Hi Renea and John! Sorry to hear about your son. Try jewelweed soap, it works. My grandmother would harvest jewelweed and make a salve with tea tree oil. It works or try colloidal oatmeal. My grandmother used it on use for poison ivy, bee stings, sunburns and so many things. I have a jar of dehydrated mixed veggie seater I call it and it’s wonderful to have. I can see why you sell a lot of it, it makes soup in no time. The oatmeal raisin cookies look delicious as does the chicken supreme. I’m short too, I know what your saying. Have a blessed day!!

Good morning! I don't know how you do everything you do, but I sure enjoy watching your videos, Renea. The thing about your videos that is most helpful to me is the alternatives you often give in your recipe ingredients and methods. Thank you for that! The chicken casserole looks so good, my menu for the day has just changed! Cookies look good too, but I wonder if I could do those in bar form? That's always easier for me. Also, that red is great on you! Happy Thursday!

I just heard you say your son doesn't like chicken and I have a short story for you that I heard years ago: My great aunt & uncle got an invitation to dinner at the home of a well-known chef. Chicken is one of the very few things my uncle doesn't care for. Guess what was on the menu that evening! He said it was a wonderful evening with interesting people, and that the chicken was "okay". Being a retired minister often invited to " interesting" meals, he had gotten really good at overlooking certain things and complimenting things I know full well he wasnt crazy about! 😁 Lol

We get feeding America here too and I really think the produce issue is due to the way they store it. They have to keep it in refrigerator units to prevent spoilage and I think often times things will get frozen and then it spoils shortly after it thaws and is passed out. It’s really unfortunate but I don’t know how they could store produce any differently.
