Come On Home & Blues March | Young Lions of Jazz | TEDxSanDiego

Leading off the second session at TEDxSanDiego in 2015 the Young Lions of Jazz played two classic numbers, Come On Home, composed by Horace Silver, and Blues March, composed by Benny Golson. This 10 musician ensemble of students features three saxophones, trumpet, trombone, drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals.
Gilbert Castellanos presents the future of Jazz. Armed with immense talent, discipline, and professionalism, these junior high and high school musicians are setting the pace and keeping America’s Classical Music-Jazz- alive and well! These students meet weekly as an ensemble to work on jazz standards, learn jazz theory, develop their own improvisational style and hone their performance skills.

Bravi! Horace and Benny would be proud of hearing talented young people like you doing these extremely fine interpretations of their almost sixty (!) years old standards. I would buy a CD with your music at the drop of a hat, if I could find any. Are there any productions I could be looking forward to?
