Hi Sister. no this verse does not means you can summon an army of angel with the guaranty that God would do it. Jesus could because he is one with the father, his will is perfectly aligned with the Father and his power is the same. But that is not our case. The promise of scripture for us is that God would help us to make it through difficulties no matter what they are, not helping us avoid them (PS 23)! Have a very blessed day!

love Upper room and love the melody but not entirely sure I get this song. "Come rest on us" gives us a feeling as the Spirit came to us and then left us and we are now asking him to come back again. The word is so clear. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever-- John 14.16 You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14.17 “the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col. 1.26) Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 1 Cor. 3.16 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 1 Cor. 6.17 The key to cultivating the presence is not asking HIM to come back to us, but looking to the work of Jesus at the cross and understanding that the Helper came to be with us forever and once we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, HE never leaves nor forsakes us. Thank you Jesus for your new covenant!

Jesus imparted the Holy Spirit to the Apostles & Disciples during His ministry on earth, and sent them out to heal the sick and to Set Free those that were oppressed by the devil. But Jesus also told them, that it was important for Him to leave them so that He could send them the Holy Spirit; because the Holy Spirit was going to come & baptize them with fire and with power! So, even though Jesus had already imparted the Holy Spirit to them, they had not yet been baptized with the Holy Spirit, until He Rested on them, in the Upper Room, with tongues & fire, as in the 2nd Chapter of Acts. However, in the 4th Chapter of Acts, after they were ordered to stop preaching about Jesus, they came together again & prayed in one accord and were filled again with the Holy Spirit & Preached with even more Boldness!! So, although when we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, we receive an infilling of the Holy Spirit that draws us closer to God, seals us to Him & impowers us to be a witness for His son, we can receive many additional impartations (refreshings) of the Holy Spirit that impowers us to walk with Jesus, have victory over sin, equips us for the work of ministry, and so much more! God Inhabits the Praises of His People & He longs for us to worship Him in Spirit & in Truth. As you worship Jesus with Upper Room Dallas, let His Holy Spirit draw you into His Presence also! I think they are talking about a re-filling. Like in Acts when the Disciples are filled numerous times. We have the Spirit, he is our down payment. But there is clearly a level of filling that goes beyond that and is subsequent to the initial filling. After Peter prayed in Acts 4, it says in verse 31 they were "all filled with the Holy Spirit...". We need to be filled! The key is that we need to be pouring out so that we can get refilled again!
