Hi everyone! I'm back with a thrift with me at Goodwill, USA! I'm so excited to finally experience this and was amazed by the amount of fantastic items on offer, from Christmas & fall decor to home goods, clothes, furniture and more! The prices seemed really reasonable to me and I only wish I had another suitcase :) Hope you enjoy the video and let me know if anything caught you eye!

Mr C, a tip for you, if you buy a Tupperware type container the right size for the delicate item, pack it with socks or similar and it will make it home in one piece! Obviously you are limited for space but I have brought home novel shot glasses and gifts that way when travelling. So good to see you enjoying the USA. X

I basically get pretty much everything to decorate my home and almost all my clothes at thrift stores. Goodwill is one I go to all the time. They also have Goodwill Outlet Stores where you pay by the pound. It's usually somewhere between $1.49 to $1.69 per pound for most things. And there are some things that are priced separately but still way below the prices in their regular stores. We just call the outlet stores "the bins". The bins is my very favorite place to go.

It was nice seeing shops in the US thru someone else’s eyes. Your charity shops always look well kept and exciting as for Goodwill it depends on where they are located and how well they are kept up. Prices vary and while a couple items in your shop seemed okay, others were a bit pricey. So glad you enjoyed your stay here in the USA. Iwan looking forward to seeing what else you got it too but also excited to see what’s going on with your loft. Sending hugs and love from Northern California🥰☮️✨💋❤️

It is so interesting to see our American stores through a Brit's eyes. It was fun to tag along. In my area, the smaller charity shops have better quality items while Goodwill often has cheaper prices. A few years ago I found an enamel covered cast iron Dutch oven for a little under $5. If you check about once a week you can find some real treasures.

I was coming here to say this very thing. We have so much STUFF here and we take it for granted. I love our smaller shops and almost never go to the large ones like Goodwill. My favorites are the ones dedicated to animal rescues.

I live in the US in Florida and I'm an avid thrift shopper. I've found that if you see something in Goodwill you need to pick it up when you see it or it's gone. It used to be the place I'd thrift a lot but now I spend more time on shops that give more back to the community like Salvation Army and Community Hospice. I'm so glad you got the chance to visit!!! ❤

The thing about Goodwill stores is that all of them are different. Some are amazing and others not so amazing. And the pricing is all over the place depending on who is doing the pricing in the back. I’ve purchased very expensive artworks super cheap in one store while lmao at the ridiculously high prices attached to garbage in the next.

My daughter bought so many things for her first apartment at Goodwill and she, her sister and myself regularly shop for vintage clothing finds, or name brand clothes. The younger got a practically new to her whole wardrobe including a fall coat for under $50- shirts, pants, jackets etc. as she needed nice stuff for her internship. Best deal ever was the $4 wicker trunk bought by my daughter 6 years ago. We saw same in a Gordman's, for $80 the same day.

Oh! Going to Goodwill used to be one of my favorite things to do on a Sunday afternoon. I had a 25 yr career in Banking (I retired early from JPMorganChase as an Executive Analyst for Jamie Dimon, the CEO) and Goodwill is where I got all of my name brand suits. I’d get them for a steal, have them dry cleaned and no one ever knew the difference lol. Whenever one of my office buddies would ask where I got them I’d tell them GW’s, lol and no one ever asked me where that was 😆. I think they thought it was a boutique!

If you like something put in your cart right away you can always pop it back on the shelf before you check out if you decide you don’t want it. Good wills are different in every store. Usually cheaper in smaller towns. Also Salvation Army. I like this thrifting for vintage. Even small antique stores have nice deals. Also local thrift stores. Where I live things are in high prices in NY. It also depends on when you go shopping they restock pretty often. I try not to buy new when I don’t have too.

My sisters and I call ourselves the scrounge sisters. Thrift stores have been a huge part of our lives. And Good Will is one of the best. For you, there is Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, Teen challenge hmm others skip my mind at the moment.

I admire the smaller cute shops you have!! My town is not considered large. Maybe in large cities small shop can turn a profit. Love the sweet country villages in UK. Blessings from Kansas- central U.S.

We just had a Goodwill open in our small town in Northern California. It wasn't very well stocked yet. It was a big space with tons of clothes. Not much in home goods. I bought 3 books and when I got home I saw the price on them and the books seemed priced to high for used. I was sort of rushing through before a dentist appointment so didn't check out everything. One great thing is that they take drop offs of most everything everyday.

For thought, you can purchase items and mail them back home to you. Just a thought, I hope it helps out.

The Goodwill near me is smaller then the one you were in, and has more clothing then anything else. But it's like all GWs, a messy jumble of items. People will donate all their junk even if broken to a thrift store.

If you have a chance, try to get over Loveless Cafe. I had the hot chicken there, and I had a get pot roast meal at Bishops 3.
