I have a progressive disorder so the older I get the more drs offices/hospital rooms I end up seeing. I was so used to being ignored and treated poorly until my mother in law-who works at a dr office- started coming with me while wearing her scrubs 😂 am I a grown adult going to see drs with a parent? Yep! But do they give SO MUCH MORE information and treat me more seriously now that they see another medical staff member in the room? YEP!! 🤣

One thing I learned from my doctor, not sure if others know, so worth sharing. If your mother had it, the recommend you get your first mammogram at the age 10 years before your mom was diagnosed (if it’s before the recommended age to start) . For example, if your mom was diagnosed at 40, you should get your mammogram at 30.

My dad is going through a cancer diagnosis, we haven’t started treatment yet, but it is so good to watch your videos, Grace! I don’t know why, but seeing you share your story just somehow helps settle nerves. So thank you for choosing to share you story and making the effort to make videos for us. You are doing so great! And I really like how you set your own bars, that’s the way to go! Beating that thing one day at a time! I hope we will also face it with same grace and force that you do! (No pun intended, by the way😄)

I am incredibly impressed by your attitude during this. I’m 28 years old and was diagnosed with thymoma in January, which is a rare cancer that grows from the thymus gland in your chest. I had surgery Feb 5th to remove the 18cm tumor and the areas of local metastasis in my chest, which was greatly successful. Now I’m in the process of meeting with oncology and they’re saying the plan is for chemo and radiation. And I’m terrified. But your videos are helpful and your attitude is helping me to try to see things differently before I start this process. So thank you, Grace. You have handled this with grace.

Grace, your ability to maintain such a positive attitude towards this whole process is genuinely so effing inspiring and you deserve all the good things that come your way! Since the pandemic happened, I've had a tendency to catastrophize or get lost in negative thoughts/self-pity when facing a tough challenge, and watching you be so open and brave and using your platform to raise awareness for young women's health has truly made me want to work on changing that about myself. I'm trying so hard not to revert to the cliché "omg you're SUCH an inspiration for fighting cancer, so brave" type of comment and I hope that's not how this comes across, I guess I just wanted to say that it's been amazing watching you grow and succeed over the years, and you're making me want to work harder to spread a little more humor and positivity even at times when I'm also scared or stressed. Thank you for sharing this with us, you're helping a lot of people!

Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Round 9/16 for me tomorrow. Got diagnosed with breast cancer at age 24, so thank you for spreading awareness, that - yes - young people can also get it.

The day before I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I underwent a sternotomy to have the mediastinal mass that was near my heart removed; since they didn’t know what it was for weeks. It has been such a rollercoaster and recently finished my second round of chemo. I truly appreciate you for sharing your journey! I don’t feel so alone during this process and hope for the best for you as well during chemo treatments ❤️you got this!
