I'm all for yarn that can go into a washing machine and a dryer. Who has the space for drying things flat without kids and pets walking all over a garment. My pets would definitely lie on top of it even when a little damp.
@SingingCrowie2 жыл бұрын
while i agree with you, i learned that if you want to keep things truly soft (like blankets, fleece, towels etc, fibrous fabrics that are super soft when you buy them and then get ruined by washing), you should really let them air dry. Pop in a dryer on a warm shortest gentle cycle, then let airdry. Also replace fabric softener with vinegar in the washer, it will remove the detergent residue and also keep your washing machine mold-free. it won't stink of vinegar but as an alternative don't use any fabric softener for your fibrous fabrics. this made all the difference for my soft garments. best to dry overnight to avoid children, as for pets... yeah you can't stop them

I love love love the Cloud Cakes! The yarn is very fussy in the sense that it’s limp and compresses, but it doesn’t split (because it isn’t a plied yarn). It’s more like a 3, but you can play with the hook size you use. I use a 5 or even a 5.5 if I want a really light blanket- in Florida we want light blankets 😂 All four of my kids have requested a blanket in this yarn after I made myself a wrap. ❤

I always tell people who get my blankets, wash in the washer on gentle cycle and NEVER put anything that has zippers, hooks, or anything that can snag the yarn! Since baby blankets get washed a lot more than blankets for adults, I recommend washing & drying the blanket with sheets, pillow cases! I normally use Yarn Bee Soft Secret for baby blankets! Two of my favorite crochet stitches are the Block Stitch and the Shell Stitch!

Love all the colors. I'm trying to learn to crochet and I'm struggling! I've watched a zillion videos and have very little success so far. I think I bought the wrong yarn and hooks maybe. It's very hard to tell where each loop is after I make the first chain row and I think it's cuz I grabbed a fuzzy yarn. Any recommendations on Edgar number yarn to practice with and also what size hook? I have the whole yarn over and sc stitch down I just get frustrated trying to not miss areas and find the holes.

I totally get it. Starting can be frustrating. I’d start with a medium number 4 weight yarn and a 5.5mm hook. Also working with things like red heart super saver or z-twist yarn can make it easier to see the stitches🎃 spooky stitches!

Love those nails! Do people act like you’re weird because you don’t look like the ‘average’ person? Enough personal questions. I’m just learning, so all goofs are my own. My main problem: pulling the hook back through the loops and the yarn keeps splitting and getting woolly. My grandma crocheted and she used a hook that closed when she drew it back. What am I doing wrong?
