Being from Detroit, I’ve been following Zeke since draft day one. There has NEVER been any NBA player to drop so much knowledge and force the game to change as much as he did. From the way the game was covered, with black beat writers and journalist, to private team planes and premium hotels, to black players getting credit for intelligence and not just athleticism - he deserves way more credit. Player owned champagne. Players ownership. Even till today with innovating bamboo car parts. Zeke is the truest definition of a legend. I am an author now and the very first public piece I wrote was about Isiah’s Dream Team snub. It said something about like: “Micheal, Magic and Bird are always promoted as the greatest (at that time), but they never taught me to have a voice - only to shoot a ball.”

I'm a big fan of Isiah Thomas. It's always a pleasure to watch him talk on TV or podcasts about the game of basketball and sharing his vast knowledge of basketball, history, business, and life. Thanks, Isiah, for helping bring and establishing the Toronto Raptors franchise in Canada. You had set the foundation for the game of basketball to grow in the Canadian sports culture back then. As a kid growing up during that particular time in Toronto, it brought me a lot of joy and memories of watching and playing ball over the years. Thank you. 🙂 Mark, I still remember when you were playing for the Raptors, how you used to do your little Mark Jackson dance on the fastbreak, and then passed the ball to Vince Carter or Antonio Davis for the dunk. Great memories. 👍

LOVE YOU ZEKE!!! LOVE YOU MARK!!! I'm an old school Pistons fan from the Bad Boys days, and I really miss the 80's / 90's era of the NBA. That was when the NBA stood for NO BABIES ALLOWED!!! It wasn't enough to be a great athlete - You had to be tough as well, and there are many so-called 'Superstars' in the past couple decades who couldn't have survived back then. The league was a harder place, and a better one.
@Paul-REDS79-80Ай бұрын
Should also add my respects to that Knicks team of the early-mid 90's that took over as the new 'Bad Boys', after the Pistons Championships era lineup went their separate ways. I remember well, and really enjoyed those Knicks/ Bulls showdowns. I'll never forget Starks baseline dunk on Jordan - served him up a facial!!! 😂

Moved out to the south pacific in 1999 and didnt have access to the nba for about 15 years. About 2013 2014 I finally got to watch a full nba game not hightlights, anyway it blew me away how different and passive the game got Discipline and effort and loyalty is out the window, making youself present on the court is different now than from the past , I always tell my friends that if the teams now focus more on pounding the ball into the paint ,more contact on defense when the ball is driven to the basket, fighting for rebounds on both ends of the court. A true defender knows when to make contact and when not thats when he knows the scorer is losing psychologically if he can get past or even score on you . Teams from before would would have picnic on todays teams no matter what reffing is done todays or the yesterdays

Hey Mark, Hey Blue. I enjoy your show a lot. I've seen this and part 2 with Isiah. Great of course. You are one of my favorite all-time. I've been a Knicks Fan since 1970. Clyde was my favorite player. I of course also dug The Pearl. Skull Barnett too, and was ecstatic they FINALLY put him in the HOF. One thing that bothered me was that you and Clyde were funny. I DON'T take sides even if Clyde was my favorite. So it's not that I don't understand that it doesn't mean you both aren't good people. I feel you personally off the field you are MORE of an All-Star than on. And Clyde is a good Man too. I just hope that you guys one day can reach an understanding because I love you both. I know you love Earl. I certainly do too and respect HOW MUCH Earl blended in, even telling Red Barnett should start and I want to earn it. That's RESPECT. Anyway, the funny thing is you have BOTH in you, but TO ME, you're more Clyde than Pearl. I'm rambling, but I hope you guys get together. I WOULD LOVE, if you had Eiither Separately and or together. I think you should do all 3. ANYWAY, GOD bless you and your Son. I hope you do ALL that I mention. Those shows would be STUPID GREAT. Continue doing what you do

Amen! Been saying that all along when people ask why Steph wouldn't have been Steph in the 80s or 90s. They simply wouldn't allow a guy to shoot from those ranges, especially since it was an era where big men were battling for position down low. Just wouldn't have happened. There's a reason a guy like Bird who had unlimited range only shot like three 3 pointers a game. It was considered a bad shot. Props to IT for speaking the truth.

7:49 mark. Zeke for years was villainized as a player and person by the monopolized ol skool and uptight mainstream media for years, at the expense of promoting Jordan. It wasn’t until NBA Players like Steve Smith, Chris Webber, and Jalen Rose (all native Detroiters) retired and became media personalities that the narrative about Isiah changed for the better. These players expressed how selfless and humble Isiah as a person has always been, and his competitive nature on the floor made people insecure. Now that social media prevents mainstream media from being unchecked, the truth is being revealed…it’s Jordan and Scottie who don’t get along with each other and Jordan isn’t the “nice guy” that the media portrayed him as. Zeke is universally respected!!!!

As a player and person, Isiah is probably the most revered athlete ever for the city he played for….Chicago may love Jordan as a player by if any of those fans saw Jordan in person and wanted to express their admiration for him, he’d have his security hogtie that fan until he (Jordan) leaves the area.
